These novels will provide an entry point into our discussion of indifference, bias, hatred, injustice and the myriad of other issues the Holocaust opens up for students. These literature circle novels will give students access to historical examples of social inequity and intolerance to inform our study of the Holocause and social justice. The novels requested will give students a variety of perspectives on the Holocaust while allowing them to access the content standards for seventh-grade language arts. Students will use these materials in order to better understand the ways in which the Holocaust occurred in order to prevent students from engaging in hateful or biased behaviors.
