  • Ink Please!

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

Thank you so much for funding our project for ink. You have no idea how many things we print in a day, so this is great. We often have to just print things on the fly and it's convenient to have ink on hand.

My students require colored work, because it makes the pictures brighter and more realistic. Black and white does not draw their attention and it's too "vague" and "generic" for them.

Thank you so much for taking the time to donate to our class project. Now we can have our adapted books in color!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Waldbaum

  • It's Spring!

    Funded Feb 7, 2025

Thank you so much for donating to this fun spring time project! We are ready to get back outside enjoying the sunshine and with this project we can!

We have class supplies of the outdoor items now!

I've made little goodie bags for the kids with l of the fun outside stuff! They all have glasses. They all have bubbles. They all have frisbees. They all have bouncy balls. They all have chalk.

They all even get a Spring book! This will let them build their home library and learn even more about spring!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Waldbaum

  • Books, Please!

    Funded Feb 5, 2025

Thank you so much for donating to this project. We love books and we absolutely love reading!

These books in this project allow for a variety of activities. We can use it for self reading for my students who are reading on their own. We can use the books to supplement our science activities with the National Geographic books. We can also use these books to just have a fun reading time!

These books are a great addition to our classroom library. I now have books for my kids who read and their own little spot in our library!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Waldbaum

  • ABC Countdown to the Last Day of School!

    Funded Jan 28, 2025

Thank you so much for donating to this project! The kids will love all the fun crafts and activities to wrap up our school year. I know I will!

These activities will really wrap up our love for literacy the last 26 days. Each day we will have a new letter. Day one we are excited to build our airplanes and let them fly through the air!

My favorite days are going to be our S superhero day, U underwater day, and the P pirate day! The U and P days will be great for not only literacy, but our fine motor skills. Kids will practice their fine motor skills with the stickers and pulling them off & putting them on!

We are so excited for the last 26 days! :)”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Waldbaum

  • Starfall Membership!

    Funded Jan 1, 2025

Thank you so so much for donating to this project for us. My students love Starfall! I love Starfall! It is just such a great way for students to use technology to play and learn. Who doesn't love to learn while they play?

We have ample things to do on this program for my students. They can do math, literacy and even some other content areas. This program is great for my students who are at the beginning stages of literacy. They can practice letters, sounds and even matching! This program also allows for read aloud for my students who are not yet reading!

    We appreciate you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Waldbaum

  • Gloves and Wipes, Please!

    Funded Dec 14, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to our project. We are always in need of these items so it's lovely when we can develop a nice little stock pile, as they go quick!

The gloves are always in high demand as they are used for feeding, changing, noses, cleaning, etc. These are always gone in a flash!

The wipes are used daily, all day long for so many different needs.

The detergent pods are awesome for when we have accidents and messes that we need a quick throw to the laundry. These are life savers, since we have a washer/dryer in building!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Waldbaum

  • Tonie Characters!

    Funded Dec 13, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to this project! I have one student who loves the tonie characters and when I showed her all the new ones, she lit up with excitement!

We just explored our new tonies and my student listened as I explained and described all of them. We talked about it being nonfiction or fiction. We talked about what our characters were (people, animals, etc.). She made a choice on what she wanted to listen to. She touched her choice. We listened to the story, as shown in the set up above. Afterwards we were able to answer "wh" questions about the book. For example, I asked "Who was in the book? The dragon or the caterpillar?" She was able to answer these questions for me, which was great because we were able to incorporate literacy comprehension in a fun, independent style activity. She used her "like" and "not" pictures on her tray to tell me she LIKED the book!

These characters are so great for my kiddos to continue a love for literacy!”

  • Fully Equipped Classroom

    Funded Dec 2, 2024

Thank you so much for finding this project. These are items we need daily and use on excess!!!

The gallon, sandwich and snack bags alone are used so so much! These bags help up keep track of picture cues and student reward systems.

The baby wipes are great for changing. The sanitizing wipes are great for wiping toys and desks down at the end of the day.

The clipboards will be great to really help with data collection on their daily IEP goals. The different colors will make it easy to color coordinate students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Waldbaum

  • Winter and Christmas Fun!

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to this project. The kids will love having some winter things going on in the room. We've been able to bring the room to life with winter decorations - the lights, the snowflakes!

We are thrilled to be able to do our snowman unit. We will "melt" a snowman, build one and even make a snowglobe with their picture in it.

I am also fortunate enough to be able to send winter goodie bags home for the kids. We have winter hats, winter books and a few other items to bring the season home!”

  • Monthly Books

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to this project. I am so excited to bring more literacy to the classroom. This is the first time I am able to find a book that is relevant for our morning meeting lesson. In morning meeting we go over calendar with imbedded math, greetings, feelings, etc. With these books I can now bring literacy!

I can't wait to read these month books at the beginning of each month to introduce it & the holidays/activities/events that occur. This is a really neat way to incorporate literacy into a lesson that we've never had a book for!”

    Mrs. Waldbaum

Welcome! In our classroom you'd find a variety of students, with varying levels of abilities. This class is a self contained special education classroom serving students with multiple disabilities. We focus a lot on daily acts of living like self-feeding, toileting, and promoting independence within the children. We are learning our names, numbers, letters (and some are even beginning to read). We teach all content areas in this class just like our general education peers, we just provide a lot more support with prompting, visuals, tactile adaptations, etc.
