Dinosaur Fun!
Funded Jan 29, 2022Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. This is a lesson I do each year and every year it becomes more and more fun!
The kiddos love dinosaurs in general, so being able to teach them the scientific method along with it is amazing. We incorporate a ton of core vocabulary words, which enhance their vocabulary and aid in their communication too.
We love being able to do the foot prints of the dinosaurs in the play dough and compare sizes!
The book is to help incorporate literacy into our lesson as well. The kiddos get to take it home & they'll be stoked!”

Updated Displays
Funded Dec 28, 2021Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. Every little bit helps make our classroom better!
This project was funded for updated displays - new display/cork boards. I am thrilled to have more, better & updated cork boards to display my daily information that I look at constantly. I have 3 cork boards behind my desk now, with student contact info, IEP dates, calendar, etc. These corkboard tiles work great!
This project also funded some pretty neat black dry erase boards as well.
A little "extra" in this project was our class tote. This bag helps my paraprofessionals carry materials and supplies to and from our resource classes, lunch, etc. They absolutely love all the pockets this bag provides!”

Holiday Books!
Funded Dec 29, 2021Thank you so much for donating to our classroom and fueling our love for literacy across the holidays! I love making reading fun, functional and relatable!
Allowing the students to learn about holidays through different types of books is awesome! In this project we had Valentine's books and St. Patrick's Day books. These books will help guide our lessons during these fun holidays and then the kiddos get to take them home!
Our New Years Eve books will be distributed next December, since the project came late, but hey, it's the project that keeps on giving!”

Snack Attack
Funded Dec 31, 2021Thank you so much for donating to my students and our classroom. Any type of food, whether it's a whole meal, snacks, drinks, whatever - really help my kiddos!
I love having the ability to offer my kids snacks within class, because their growing minds and bellies need to stay nourished.
We now have a gigantic variety of snacks for all my eaters! We have tons of popcorn, cookies, pirates booty, juice, etc.
These children will be so thrilled to have more snacks to pick from. These snacks may even last us the rest of the school year, which is amazing!”

Funded Dec 9, 2021Thank you so much for your donation!
My classroom is made up of children who all are at different stages of learning. Most of my students are still working on letters & their letter sounds. Some are using letters to spell their names and some are still looking at their names with a picture to identify. One commonality among them are that they still all need tons of repeated instruction on alphabet knowledge. These fun interactive dinosaur books are great for them to read/be read to & move. This shows them that letters on a page are not just letters, but mean something. These fun ABC books show each letter in isolation, which is much needed to learn letters. The other books are for fun to rhyme.
The other alphabet toys are great to still learn literacy skills while playing!”

Shirts & Bags for the New School Year
Funded Oct 30, 2021Thank you so much for donating to this project! The plan is to have each student have their own customized shirt for the end of the school year - that they can help make! They can pick their graphic to put on the shirt and the shirt will say something along the lines like "Officially a 2nd grader!"
The kiddos will also get a personalized tote bag with goodies to go home with for the summer!
The kids will be so excited to have things with their names on. The shirt will fit them perfectly, as I got all sizes for all children!”

Classroom Essentials
Funded Nov 19, 2021It is not so much that my students are thrilled, but myself and my two amazing paraprofessionals are over the moon excited to have these supplies in the classroom now.
We love that we have more gloves, as we need them for feeding, changing, wiping noses, etc. All of the wipes are a great addition to our classroom, because we go through baby wipes so quickly with all the changing & wiping we do daily.
My kiddos, however, are excited to see their teachers using the pointers! One little boy even uses his own pointer to help with different activities!”

Funded Nov 17, 2021Thank you so much for giving to our class during this holiday season!
Each kiddo has a Christmas bag with a fidget toy, Christmas book, candy cane, hot chocolate and a personalized coffee cup with their name on it! They'll love that! They love seeing their names all over different places. This will also help them learn their name more, especially when in differing fonts. Their parents and siblings also have a cocoa packet to have a family hot chocolate night!
These will be sent home the day we let out for break!”

Binding Our Own Books!
Funded Oct 30, 2021I am beaming with excitement! I have been dying to get this binding machine! We staple so many books in this classroom, and stapled books are not like binded books at all.
We have so many uses for binding books in our classroom. We make books out of our predictable chart writing prompts, we make books during science, and we have books for guided reading!
I am so thrilled to have books that turn pages easily for the kids, especially those that have fine motor difficulties. Now the pages stay on the left after you turn them and someone doesn't have to hold down the other side! :)
Thanks for gifting us a binding machine and the goodies that go with!”

Rewarding Toys!
Funded Oct 30, 2021Kids love toys and that's no secret. We are so thrilled to have new toys in our treasure box, staff and children alike.
The new toys are fun and provide lots of sensory input. These new toys also work on fine motor skills, which my kiddos need some improvement in.
The toys are also helping supplement our lessons! We used the whoopi cushion to talk about "gas" in our science lesson and the "noise putty" to make noises.
The whoopi cushion is the greatest toy of all, according to one of our boy students! :)”
