I work with students in the ESE (Exception Student Education) department in grades 3-5 who have varying exceptionalities and learning disabilities. The students either come to me in my resource room, or I provide additional help in the ESE inclusion classrooms. Many of these students are struggling readers who would benefit from the variety of educational apps found on the Kindle. They are hard working students who love utilizing technology. They attend a grades K-5 elementary school. The school is also a Title 1 funded school, which means the students often come from a low socioeconomic background and receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch at the school. The school is located in a small town with a mix of urban and rural environments, which leave students with narrow real world experiences and limited background knowledge.
