Learning with Technology
Funded Sep 29, 2021Thank you thank you!
My first graders and I can not thank you enough for your generous donation. You have given my students the opportunity of a lifetime. Learning through technology makes them more intrigued in what they are learning. They love working on certain learning programs we use in our school, during school hours. Not many students can afford technology at home so giving them ipads helps them complete necessary activities on these learning tools while in school. Again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donation!”

Helping Us Learn with Technology
Funded May 5, 2021In today's classrooms the generation of students demands a different type of curriculum that cannot always be provided by schools or even the teacher. Students are taught from a young age how to manipulate technology and use it to their advantage. Students no longer have to find books on a topic to complete research instead they grab a computer, laptop or tablet and search in the Internet for anything they wish to discover. Now in my own classroom students are able to easily discover and learn new things thanks to the wonderful donors who were able to fund my technology in the classroom project. A typical scenario in my classroom would be to find myself work with a group of students a few others working independently and a team of two or three researching on the computer.
When the new iPad arrived my students were thrilled about having technology in the room that was so easy for them to access at any time. The touch screen feature makes navigating through the iPad a breeze for young 6 and 7 year old who sometimes don't know how to properly use or hold a computer mouse. As a teacher I love how light weight the iPad's are and how versatile its functions can be manipulated for working one on one with a student or a child reading books on their own. One student who really fell in love with our new technology in the classroom is a 7 year old boy who loves to play a math solving game where he has learned to quickly solve math facts while playing an interactive game.
From myself and all my students we thank the donors for allowing us to have such a wonder piece of technology in our classroom.”

Funded May 22, 2019My entire class and I would like to thank you for our "cheater beaters" These help the students have a quiet testing environment. Students also use them when they want to work alone or read quietly without any interruptions. They very easy to use as students can quickly open and set up their testing area.
This has become a great addition to our classroom as it allows students to concentrate and feel privacy which increases testing confidence. We are all very happy to have this great addition to our classroom. Again, my students and I are greatly appreciative."”

Funded Sep 17, 2018My classroom is a small room where every space needs to be utilized for maximum use. Students in my class sit in tables instead of traditional desks that do not allow for personal storage or a way of keeping their belonging nearby.
With the use of these seat sacks my students can now keep their materials organized and near by. In my classroom students leave their book bags in tubs near the front of the room instead of having the book bags on the back of their chair; which are always slipping off and causing a possibly accident.
With the use of these seat sacks now every student they can keep important supplies near them in an organized manner. It has created a fantastic work space for the children and keeps my classroom organized.”

Scholastic Social Studies Magazine
Funded Nov 20, 2015My first grade class is so grateful for the gracious donation of Donors Choose and their amazing sponsors. I ask for Scholastic social studies magazines for my students as another tool to engage my students in their learning and these articles definitely hit the target. My students are such engaged learners and are always raising questions about the lesson at hand and with Scholastic there are so many tools such as accessible online resources that are aligned with the concepts covered in the classroom. I have used these scholastic magazines for different aspects of learning such as a complete lesson to even morning work to get the students excited for day ahead. As if receive social studies magazines wasn't enough I received an added bonus; the Science Spin magazine as well. What I love the most about scholastic as a teacher is how aligned the articles are with my state standard and pacing guide so no magazine goes unused
From my first grade class and I we would like to extended our gratitude for the opportunity you have given to o\our education with your gracious donation.”
