Organization with a Purpose!
Funded Dec 29, 2022I want to take this moment and say a huge thank you! This is my first year where I am teaching the entire school within a school year. I hated the thought of all the folders that would eventually end up in a landfill, so I decided to use a more ecology friendly method. Now I have folders that can be used over and over. They also help keep even the youngest students organized, because they know what color folder their grade level has. They are all excited to have their own folders.
Teachers asking for help with basic supplies is not always easy. We think to ourselves, "Oh I can handle buying that for my room." or "It really doesn't cost that much." Next thing we know we've spent way more than we intended. l am so thankful for donors like you who helped to make sure we had all we needed. I like to work with interactive science notebooks and the glue is wonderful to know that each student can have their own glue stick to work at their own individual pace.
Finally, Science is messy. At least the way I teach science. I want the students to know what it is like to get into an investigation or experiment and have the cleaning supplies to clean up any messes that are made. The paper towels will help with that. Recently our school has upgraded to air dryers for the student bathrooms. The Bounty paper towels really do pick up better. (4th grade did an investigation on it.)
Thank you again for your donations and help!”

Funded Dec 31, 2020We cannot thank you enough for your generous gifts! As this bizzare school year comes to a close, we have started learning about coding. The students have gotten excited and have started asking questions about coding. We built a race car and wrote code to make it move and stop all on its own! The kids were so engaged, even as we come to the end of the year.
When the materials first came, I may have been just as excited, or even more so, than the students. They asked every day when we were going to use the Lego Kit. When I finally told them we were using it they cheered.
Next week I plan on using it to introduce them to science subjects they will learn next year in 5th grade.
Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for contributing to my classroom.”

Funded Jun 20, 2020While we have not yet been able to use these wonderful resource, the students are super excited to be able to use them when we return to in-person teaching. They had so many questions about how the materials were going to be used. They are now ready to dive into Earth Processes. I am thrilled that I can now take that excitement they show and build upon it. Thank you so much for your generous donations to a well-deserving group of students!
The students are looking forward to being back in school and being able to use these materials. They have already begun asking some thoughtful questions.”

Getting Energized in 4th Grade!
Funded Sep 5, 2019I can not even begin to express my gratitude. We have recently started our energy unit with the students examining every little piece of material that came in our unit box. They started cheering as I opened the box and began pulling out each of the tools and materials we will be using.
The scientists have just started using their science journals to help them keep track of their learning about energy. Our next step is to begin the first lesson with how we use energy and the different sources of energy. They have expressed interest in learning how energy transforms and causes different reactions.
I love to see them so eager to learn. You have been a tremendous help in getting my students there. Thank you again!”

Mrs. Stapleton
