  • Preparing for the Future, While Providing for My Current Class!

    Funded Apr 22, 2024

Thank you for your support of my students. My students have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Unfortunately, curriculum to support my students is limited. Lakeshore Learning has created a variety of workbooks that I can use to support my students needs. I am able to adapt these materials as needed based on the students individualized requirements.

Additionally, sensory items are extremely important for students with autism. When individuals become over stimulated, sensory materials can be very beneficial to support them and help them to calm down.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trama

  • Letters, Numbers, and Easels, Oh My!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you, once again, for your support of my students. This year I am working with 2-3 grade students, a new adventure for me. This means new items are needed to support their needs. The easel is a great addition to my circle time routine. I am able to model how to write, students can participate in morning messages and practice their fine motor skills. Working with letters and numbers is always important. Even though my students are a bit older, their special needs often mean that they have cognitive delays. Hands on learning with letters and numbers is still important in my classroom setting.”

  • Creating Task Boxes to Promote Independence.

    Funded Jun 24, 2023

As a teacher of autistic students, my planning ranges throughout the spectrum. The abilities that my students have vary extremely, including academic, interpersonal communication, personal maintenance, everyday living skills, and more. Task boxes all me to provide my students with hands-on, interactive experiences that support their goals. Unfortunately, my district does not provide me with these materials, so, it falls on me to create what is needed for my students to succeed. Without your support, I would not be able to give my students the learning experiences that they are entitled to. Thank you so much for supporting myself and my students.”

  • Art and Games to Support Creativity and Social Skills

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

I want to express my sincerest gratitude. I appreciate your help and support of my students and classroom. As students with special needs, acquiring all the necessary materials for their success can be challenging. Projects like this one allow me to integrate creativity into the classroom. Art activities allow my students to explore their creativity in the classroom in a fun and expressive way. Games are essential to practice skills such as engaging with peers, following directions, and turn-taking. Without your support, my classroom would be lacking in these materials.”

  • Reading and Writing Materials to Improve Literacy

    Funded Mar 21, 2023

Thank you for your support for my students and classroom. As a special education teacher, finding the suitable materials to ensure that my students are successful can be challenging. The challenge would be more significant without the help of generous individuals like you. Ensuring the success of the next generation is something that can not be done by one person alone, your contribution will help give my students the tools that they need to succeed. I appreciate your generosity and cannot thank you enough!”

  • Starting Off the 2020 Strong!

    Funded May 19, 2020

The beginning of a new school year is a fresh start and a new beginning for teachers and students a lot. As an autistic support teacher, I create many of my materials and need them to last. Laminating paper is essential to keep items solid and sturdy.

Velcro is another product that I constantly use in the classroom. Velcro is used to make hands-on materials and activities for children to move pieces around. I also use velcro to create individual schedules for my students, as they have individual needs due to their diagnoses.

The items in this project will allow me to start the school year in an organized manner. I will be able to create more lasting activities for my students to support all of their needs.”

  • Teacher Made Resources to Supplement Learning!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation. Many times, the items provided by the school district are just not enough to meet the needs of the students. I am grateful to be able to use resources from my peers as a supplement. Teachers know students the best and using their resources are always effective. As we all know, teachers spend a great deal of money each year and these gift cards will be an effective way to from me to save some money. I appreciate you and your student on all my projects! Thank you once again.”

  • Help Spruce up Our Classroom for a New Year!

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you so much for your endless support! All of the items in this project will go towards enhancing my classroom and the everyday experiences for my students. I appreciate all that you do for my students. I wish I was able to give them all that they need, however, based on their individual needs, it can be a challenge. Having the support of family, friends, and strangers is heartwarming. Students with autism require more than just books, and consumables so I am grateful to be able to provide these opportunities with my students.”

  • Enhanced Circle Time For Enhanced Learning!

    Funded Jul 12, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting my class. The items in this project will be used during circle time. This is our morning meeting where we greet one another, go over basic skills and review things that we have learned. The pocket charts will help to keep us organized and keep the information clear. Magnetic tiles will be a great addition for the students to manipulate. I believe hands on learning is the best for my students with autism and this project will help us achieve that. I cannot wait to introduce these items to my students!”
