I wanted to thank each and everyone of you for your donation. Our district has been greatly affected to due budget cuts and we have not been able to purchase new computers. The laptop we received helped both the students and me throughout the year.
With the laptop, students were able to create mock Facebook pages for a novel we read in class. The laptop came in handy because I was able to purchase an ebook and project it to the entire class instead of buying a copy for each student. Students were also able to view virtual Field trips of Ellis Island and The Secret Annex.

This classroom project was brought to life by Wasserman Foundation and 33 other donors.

We are in one of the largest school districts in the U.S. It has been severely hit by budget cuts. We have very few supplies and there is no money to be spent on updating, fixing, or getting new technology in the classrooms. Many of my students do not have computer access at home. They are 8th graders who will be going to high school next year and will be expected to know how to do research on the Internet, use word processing programs to write papers, and create presentations using technology. I want to provide them with the opportunity to learn how to do these things so they are prepared for a successful future in a technology-driven age.
