My students love to learn! Third grade is a very curious grade. Eight- and nine-year-olds are sponges, and they soak up anything you will give them, and never cease asking questions. I teach the ELL (English language learners) and have students from all over the world. Some are completely English proficient and some have come to me with absolutely no English. It amazes me how quickly students can learn another language when completely immersed in it. I currently have 48 students and about half are ELL students.
