• The Surface to Make Learning Pro-Fessional

  My new surface pro and accessories has greatly improved my remote teaching. I can now do the following: write on my screen to share it with students with lots of colors, I can screenshot student work to share it with students for feedback, and I can work on this screen while viewing the students on my other device.

  I use the Snip and Sketch, the whiteboard app and One Note to write and share information with my students. I can color coordinate and organize everything to be able to share it with my students for easier access.

  When students need help, I can take a screen shot of their work, write on it for feedback, and then share it with them or the whole class.

  Most importantly, I can now do two things at once! When I am zooming, I have my students video's on one screen so I can talk to them and get feedback on what I am teaching and then I have the work I am showing them on my new Surface Pro.

• Printing for My Students

  This project has already impacted the learning in my class in the following ways: students can actually read the handouts that I print for them instead of having toner that is too light or makes marks all over the paper, my students can print out their own materials when needed instead of having to go to a local library if they don't have a printer at home, and I can easily print for my students on the spot instead of waiting to use the school's copier.

  My students have found that the clarity of the new printer is the most exciting. Sometimes the copies we get from the school copier makes marks on the paper, which makes it really hard for the students to read. Often times they would make mistakes on the test because they could not read the question.

  Thank you again donors for helping with this project. I look forward to the continued use of my printer in my classroom everyday.”

• Technology in the Classroom

  The graphing calculators that were purchased have helped my students in the following ways: students who have difficulty with their multiplication and division facts are able to use the calculators to focus on the Algebra instead of getting stuck on the math facts, Algebra students who are graphing are able to check their answers on the calculators and are able to understand concepts instead of memorizing steps, and my honors Algebra 2 students are able to answer more complicated conceptual questions.

  I still have a lot to learn on how to use these graphing calculators to help my students, but am happy that I have the opportunity to do so.”
