Funded Mar 7, 2020Words are not enough to express the joy and the excitement my students felt when they opened the boxes full of snacks. The had so many questions like why would someone we do not know give us this? I explained that empathy and love are feelings we need to develop. Also had a great conversation about gratitude. I told them that smiling, writing back and even enjoying the snacks is a way to show gratitude. It was a great lesson for them and at the same time their bellies will be full from now on thanks to your support.”

Flexible Learning with a Calming Twist... Just What We Need!
Funded Oct 11, 2019This project has changed the way my students work in my classrooms. They feel comfortable, relax and are more engaged because they look forward to a safe and relax spot to work on. They feel less stressed and their mood is better when they have the option to work around the classroom and being comforted. School work production has improved a lot and the quality of the work too. My students feel like working is not a burden anymore, and look at working time especially writing as a way for them to move around and feel relaxed.
Thank you is not enough for these tools in my room.”

Calm in Chaos!
Funded Aug 17, 2019Thank you so much for your donations. Thanks to your help my students are able to focus more when working, feel more comfortable and ready to learn because some of their needs are being covered. The small toys and the rubber bands for the chairs, are their favorite. They were a little confused at the beginning in how to use the bands, but once they figured it out, now I think I need to get more. It helps them so much!
Moving forward, I want to keep implementing more flexible seating and calming area support to make it possible for my students to be successful.”

Sound is NOT the Problem...
Funded Sep 21, 2018Describing how exciting and grateful my students are is so hard. When they saw the huge box they were not expecting to see headphones inside. But even more, they did not expect the headphones to be so pretty and comfortable for them. That was the first thing they said: "This is so comfortable and soft". "Now I can work without getting distracted by noises around me". They need to do some assessments that require for them to listen and follow instructions and without the headphones it was so hard because they got confused listening to different computers and instructions at the same time.
My students feel successful in class because of your help. This for me is the most important thing, that my students have the best time in class. Thanks for being part of this.”

Updating to Keep Up With My Variety of Students!
Funded Aug 23, 2018It has been an amazing journey to read so many new strategies and ideas that I can use in my classroom. This year I am working with two different grade levels, and I am focused on Literacy, so this books are perfect.
My goals as a professional for this year is to have my students be better reader and writers by working on the skills they need to achieve this. This skills include reading comprehension, writing about reading, help them improve their fluency through guided reading, and work in small groups.
These books has been an amazing tool to work towards my goal.
Words are not enough to say how thankful I am for your help in getting the tools to help my students be better scholars.”

Funded Mar 26, 2018First of all, thank you so much for bringing joy to my tiny readers in my classroom. My students work really hard to master two languages, English and Spanish. We have a lot of English materials in class, but for the Spanish side is different. Since is the first year the Spanish program goes up to the 4th grade level, resources are getting started. When I moved here from Puerto Rico, I brought some Spanish books with me, but these readers are so amazing they are already done with those books. These new Spanish readings are and will make a huge different in my students. The level of reading for these books is higher from most of my students and this is with a purpose. I want them to challenge themselves to improve their reading and comprehension skills to get to the grade level they need to be and go beyond it. I want my students to be able to work hard and see the results when they improve in reading. Also, I want them to see that there is a great variety of styles and genres to read.
I can't wait for my students to improve and explore the readings, that once as a student and enjoyed too. Thank you again for being so nice to my class and help my student's skills improve.”

Becoming Expert Mathematicians!
Funded Mar 27, 2018First of all thank you so much for your donation and making our classroom so happy with the supplies.
My students are so excited of being able to use their new math manipulative during our math block. Fractions are a sensitive unit and complicated skill for most of the students, specially during their early years. Being able to see in a more real world how fractions work and how we can see them in more than just a black and white piece of paper had made my mini mathematicians improve so much. They are now excited about practicing math, even the multiplication facts because they play with the dice.
Their faces when the boxes arrived where so unique and happy that it is hard to put their emotions in words but for sure they were more than happy. But the true value is seeing them succeed at skills that they thought they will never be able to accomplish.
Once again, thank you so much. You have really made a difference in my classroom.”
