  • Cushions for Comfort

    Funded Aug 11, 2022

When our brand new, brightly colored cushions arrived, my students were elated! Having the opportunity to work around the room in different areas is always something my students have enjoyed. Any break from a desk is appreciated! The cushions that you so generously provided have allowed my students to sit anywhere in comfort. They are able to use the cushions with a lap desk or clipboard to complete assignments with ease. Often times, students ask to use the cushions to read a book when they finish an assignment early. My students and I thank you for your support and donations. You made this project possible and brought smiles to a lot of second grader's faces!”

  • Summer Swag for Second Grade Students

    Funded Mar 22, 2022

My group of students received the most amazing Swag Bag, filled with tons of toys, activities and stylish accessories thanks to your generosity. I wish you all could have seen the smiles and giddy laughter coming from my students when I showed them the emoji bags. Immediately, students were sharing that they couldn't wait to open the bag when they got home to show their brother/sister/etc. Because students receive these goodie bags before the last day of school, it was so fun to see them using their emoji bags at school while coming in with the bracelets and sunglasses that were given to them. I hope to keep this tradition going and will be posting the same project in a few months. My students and I so appreciate your generosity and support.”

  • API Storytime

    Funded May 16, 2022

Thank you tons for your support and contribution towards a project that has maid AAPI month that much more exciting. My students have LOVED reading along with me as we explore Asian American and Pacific Island culture, food and lifestyle. We recently read Mela and the Elephant, writing by a gentleman from Taiwan and an illustrator from Singapore and loved the message that this book delivers. Each morning, my students know to ask for a book that showcases AAPI characters, writers and/or illustrators. They have learned so much about tufu, bao buns and various celebrations. The questions and conversations that take place have been amazing. I am so fortunate to have these books in my classroom for future students. Thank you for donating to a project that not only exposes my current students to different foods and cultures they may not know about but to future second graders that enter my classroom.”

  • Flexibility Enhances our Creativity

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

My students and I want to thank you for your contribution to one of the most loved items in our class. The chairs that were purchased with your contribution have made writing and reading around the room that much more enjoyable (and comfy!). Students have been able to take turns using the chairs in different locations and absolutely love being able to work away from their desks and chairs. Their attitude towards writing and reading has truly improved with the addition of these chairs. I look forward to using these new additions to the classroom in future years and know how much my students will enjoy using them. Thank you again for your support.”

  • Dolls and Dialogue

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

I can't begin to describe the excitement my students expressed as I unwrapped each of the 3 new additions to our classroom. The dolls were greeted with "Oh's!" and "Ah's!" by each and eery student. Having recently learned about Ella, Rosa and Harriet students were eager to see replicas of the 3 women. They were so incredibly interested to see their clothing and view their "accessories". This led to amazing questions and discussion. We reference the ladies often in conversations about Black History so having a visual constant in the classroom aids to instruction.

The addition of a few new books to our classroom library have already been explored and well-received by the class. They are a staple on our shelves and will surly be enjoyed by future classes and students alike.

Thank you tons for being a part of a project that has expanded a classrooms inclusivity and diversity. My students and I appreciate your kindness and support.”

  • Books for Black History Pt. 3

    Funded Jan 21, 2022

These books have been a phenomenal addition to our classroom library. They have sparked amazing conversation and questions amongst my students and will continue to cultivate a strong sense of acceptance and diversity. Reading to my students is one of the best parts of my school day and the books that you have so generously donated towards our library have transformed our classroom into one that reflects my students, their families and culture. It is amazing to hear a student tell me that they "love her hair" or "my grandma walks me to school, too!". The connections made in these stories are unmatched and I know it has built a stronger sense of community within my classroom. Thank you for your support and kindness from myself, my second grade students and all future students that walk into my classroom.”

  • Students Need Storage

    Funded Dec 2, 2021

Having containers for each and every students has been such a lifesaver! Not only are supplies easily accessible, student supplies are kept separate from one another, minimizing close contact and keeping students safe. Each basket has been secured to student tables which keep them all in place. Students have easy access to the variety of texts, supplies and books we use each day. The bins are large enough to not only hold everything my students require, but allow to the addition of supplies if needed. Having enough storage within my classroom has always been a challenge. Dealing with the additional protocol of Covid requirements has made creating storage solutions that much more challenging. With this project, many of my storage needs have been met. I thank you for your donation and support.”

  • Writters Gotta Write

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

These notebooks have been a great addition to our writing process. Students are able to use their individual books for writing rough drafts, brainstorming and other aspects of writing. These books have made editing a breeze with space for students to self correct mistakes as they go. It has also been a lot easier to keep track of student work while creating a published piece.

My students truly appreciate having special writing notebooks, separate from other books in class. Students are excited to use their notebooks for writing and look forward to adding new thoughts and idea to stories throughout our writing block.

    Thank you again!”

  • Hydrating Minds and Bodies

    Funded Sep 21, 2021

My students were in SHOCK when I opened up the mysterious, huge brown box that arrived in our classroom last month. Once I opened the box to reveal what was inside, my students squealed with excitement! "Are they for us?!" many yelled. They were beyond excited to have their very own water bottle that they could use in class. I am truly proud of my students as they have been doing an amazing job keeping their water bottles clean and out of the way during instruction and independent work.

The bottles have been a life-saver and I no longer hear "I'm thirsty!" throughout the day. Students have the autonomy to drink water when they are thirsty without disrupting instruction or their classmates.

We can't thank you enough for your generosity and support of this project. These water bottles are loved by each and every one of my second grade students and I know that when the year comes to an end, these water bottles will continue to be a hot ticket in my students' homes.”
