Regulate Emotions in the Calming Corner
Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations to create calm corners on our Twin Creeks campus. Students all over the campus from TK to fifth grade have been utilizing these valuable spaces to help regulate their emotions. This is such a valuable resource for our students and would not be possible without your help!
Thanks to your contributions, we were able to create spaces for students to visit in classrooms and other resource areas, to help them calm down and regulate themselves. These materials included cozy seat cushions, calming backgrounds, a fluffy rug, all sorts of different fidgets from putty to acupressure rings, headphones, weighted lap blanket, and more. The noise canceling headphones have been checked out to teachers with students who are sensitive to loud noises to wear when needed. The weighted lap blanket now lives in our TK classroom and is used by our youngest students when they need a little quiet time. The fidgets are given out to students when needed.
Calm corners are essential in all spaces children occupy. Our students social emotional wellness must be our top priority. Thank you for making this a possibility at our school!”

Innovation Center: SAM STEAM Labs and Makey Makey
Funded Apr 21, 2018Thank you so much for supporting our STEAM Lab project! The students were so excited when we unboxed the new Bee-Bot Robots, Makey-Makey Kits, Cubelets Constructors, & Raspberry Pis! Students are so thrilled to have fun tech materials that they can use to explore, create and learn from.
These resources support our continued efforts to build up our classroom Innovation Lab. Students use this space to build new friendships, to create hands-on projects, and to engage in group exploration. Many of my students use our tech space daily and have really enjoyed the unstructured exploratory opportunities. It gives them all a safe space in which they can pursue their interests with like-minded students.
Thank you again for your generous donation, it is truly changing the students and their learning.”

Chromebooks for Common Core
Funded Oct 22, 2013Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your generous donations have impacted our classroom in such a significant way. The new Chromebooks are in constant use. Students use them to research, participate on our class blog, access their Google Drive, stay informed on our school website and check their grades on SchoolLoop. These computers are especially appreciated by the students who don't have technology at home. They can come into our classroom and use the Chromebooks before class, during lunch and after school.
Now that students have access to technology, our classroom is turning into a 21st century learning environment. The Chromebooks have allowed my to do more project based learning. Student engagement is high and the curriculum is not only relevant to their lives, but also in direct alignment with our new common core standards. Thank you so much!”

iLearn with iTouch
Funded Dec 16, 2011Thank you so much for your generous donation. Your generosity has allowed us to have three classroom iTouches. These iTouches are used for a variety of cross-curricular activities. We use these mobile devices everyday for many different purposes. For math, students practice math facts, telling time, counting coins and spatial awareness skills.
Most importantly, we use the iTouches to improve our reading and writing skills. We record ourselves reading and listen for fluency. We love making digital stories too! We have many English language learners in our class who use the iTouches to improve their vocabulary and reading comprehension. Students also use dictionary apps to help with spelling and grammar apps to help with sentence formation.
The iTouches engage the students. My first graders are excited about using them to learn new information and create digital media. We truly appreciate your generous donation!”
