Leveled Readers for K!
Funded Dec 31, 2015I'm so happy to have these leveled readers for my students to use. I had a great success with all my students learning to read this year, and having these books on different levels definitely helped all my students, especially my higher level students who were reading.
Next year, the district will be providing classroom set of guided reading books that I can add to my collection. I feel great having my books already organized in levels A through K which is all the way up to 2nd grade.

Boogie Boards for K!
Funded Dec 28, 2015It's been wonderful having these fun writing tools in my classroom. My students love writing and drawing on these electronic doodle boards. They take turns using these Boogie Boards, writing CVC words and CVCe words with target sounds together. We also use them at centers writing sight words and sentences. It's great seeing the kids enjoy themselves as they are learning with wonderful tools.

A Table for K!
Funded Dec 15, 2015Having this new rectangular table has made it so much easier for my students to work, play, do centers, read, and more! I was able to get rid of the old round table that was taking up so much space and replaced it with this beautiful table that fits into our classroom perfectly. It was hard passing by the old table because the space was so tight. Now we can easily move around it. There is plenty of room for small group time. My aide uses the table to read with my students every morning.

Funded Jan 22, 2016These sensory tubs are so much fun for my young students. They are pulling out letters and making them into words. Also they get to pull out numbers, shapes, and objects to identify sounds. These items are hidden inside of different types and sizes of beads. Kinetic sands are being used to stamp words onto them, and kids love touching the sand just for fun. The teacher next door saw how fun these sensory tubs were, so she also wrote the Donorschoose project requesting them.

Ten Frames for K!
Funded Nov 30, 2015These magnetic dry erase boards with ten frames have been a great teaching tool for my young students to grasp number concepts. One side has one ten frame and the other side has double ten frames, and they work so well together with the magnetic counters that are double sided as well with two different colors. These boards also give a line on the bottom for my students to write the equation with dry erase markers. My students have been doing well adding and subtracting with these new materials.

Computer for K!
Funded Aug 31, 2015It's been great having this new tool for the Smart Board this year. The Microsoft Surface Pro is small enough to fit and carry anywhere, and its versatility makes it so useful for me as a classroom teacher. It took me a while to figure out how to use it well, but as I use it daily in variety of ways, I'm just loving this new computer. It's so fast and the kids don't need to wait for it to load like the other small netbook computer I had for the Smart Board. I also love the touch screen and love that it also works as a tablet. I have kids take the interactive attendance, come up to the board to write words, exercise daily, sing songs, do learning games on different websites.

Book Bins for K!
Funded Aug 23, 2015It's been great having these colorful book bins in the classroom. I have organized them by the table colors; red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Each student has their number, and the book bins have the student numbers in the clear front pocket. It's very fast and easy for my students to grab their boxes and read on their own or read with a partner. My students use it during Daily 5 time and when they are done with their assignments. My students can shop for their own books to fit their reading level, or I can assign easy books for them.

Adventure to Fitness for K!
Funded Sep 12, 2015I'm so thankful for your generous support for my classroom. My students look forward to Fridays for our Adventure to Fitness time. The episodes are very engaging for all students to get their bodies moving and learning about different facts around the world. This educational program allows interactive 30 minute exercises for kids that are so much fun!
I'm hoping to share this great program with all the colleagues and Kindergartners at my school.

Wiggle Wobble in K!
Funded Aug 23, 2015Thank you so much for your generosity! These wobbly air cushions have been wonderful in my classroom. I also let my colleagues try these cushions out for their own classrooms too, and they love using these with highly active students who need their own space to move around without popping others' space bubbles. One teacher's student did so much better sitting in her own spot using the cushion, the teacher ended up writing her own Donorschoose project asking for the same cushions. I'm happy to provide my students with the tools they need to be successful learners, and thank you so much for being part of it.”
