  • Motivating Prizes for Scholars!

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your kind support for my classroom. My students look forward to getting a prize. I let them earn their prizes by completing their daily homework and learning their high-frequency words. Every 10 homework pages, they get to pick a prize from my treasure chest. Since I have more than 60 students, the prizes must be replenished often. The prizes also need to be something that students want to earn. They like getting scented markers, pens, squishes, stickers, and small toys. It's such a joy to see their smiles. I appreciate your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park

  • Teachers Pay Teachers Resources for Readers

    Funded Nov 17, 2024

I'm so grateful for the Teachers Pay Teachers resources you have funded for my classroom. I was able to purchase the "fun" homework for my struggling readers that aligned with the reading intervention program I use. They include word search, fill-in-the-blanks, word match, cut & paste, coloring puzzles with the words, or phonics skills lessons my students learned that day. My students not only get the needed independent practice at home but also love getting the homework since it's fun for them. I feel that my intervention program is more substantial this year because of this daily homework. Thank you so much for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park

  • Scented Markers and More!

    Funded Oct 29, 2024

Thank you so much for funding materials that my students enjoy getting and using in the classroom. Some are used in class, and some are given out as prizes. When students complete their daily homework, they can earn a prize. One of the most popular prizes is the scented markers. Students love scented markers, stickers, and squishes! They also earn their prizes by learning their high-frequency words. We've been using the highlighters to highlight the consonant digraphs, silent E words, and tricky heart words. Thank you so much for bringing joy to my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park

  • Books & Prizes for Scholars!

    Funded Mar 22, 2024

I work with struggling readers in second and third grade this year, and when they first walk into my classroom, they are to quietly get a book to read for about 5 minutes until it's their group time. These books from Lakeshore are helpful in the classroom because they're just the right level for them to read. Many students don't have books at home and don't get much experience reading books on their level.

They are motivated to do their daily reading homework because of these prizes I have in the treasure chest. Thank you so much for providing my classroom with the materials I need. I appreciate your kind support! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park

  • Junior Learning Fun for Scholars!

    Funded Jul 24, 2024

The materials you've funded have been used and have helped engage my students to become better readers. The Magic E Flip chart was used to teach the silent e skills that most of my second-grade students didn't know how to read. The Spelligator game is good for them to create nonsense words, too, and it helps them practice sounding them out and blending the words. The 100 Common Idoms words cards and the My First 100 Words cards are very helpful for the students to go through them and see which ones they still need to work on.

Thank you so much for bringing these helpful materials to my students. We appreciate you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park

  • Game On!

    Funded Jan 21, 2024

Thanks to your support, I was able to provide my students with hands-on games to practice reading words on specific phonics skills. The laminating sheets make the game pieces to be sturdy, and I was able to create individual games using the sheet protectors. Having the foam dice in clear containers makes playing games fun as students shake the dice inside the containers without having to roll them. The magnetic chips and magnetic wands are fun to use to cover the words and then swipe them up as they read them. Thank you so much for supporting the students to be more excited about learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park

  • Multisensory Way for Scholars!

    Funded Dec 28, 2023

My students are absolutely interested and motivated to use these hands-on materials to sound out words. The magnetic chips with the alphabet and the magnetic wand make it fun for them to blend the sounds into words. The colorful phoneme segmentation trays help separate the sounds, and the students can even write right on the trays using a dry erase marker.

These kind of hands-on materials benefit struggling readers greatly in order to build up the essential foundational skills.

Thank you so much for your support!”

    With gratitude,

  • Staying Dry & Comfy!

    Funded Jan 16, 2024

Having these umbrellas for my students has been so helpful with recent heavy storms and rainy days. My classroom is pretty far from the 2nd-grade classrooms, and without the umbrellas, they would come to my classroom soaking wet. I was able to walk my students back and forth to keep them dry and comfortable. I was also able to provide chapsticks and hand lotion for my students who needed them. Thank you so much for supporting my students in staying comfortable and dry! Your support is very much appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park

  • Awesome Teacher Resources for Scholars!

    Funded Dec 12, 2023

TeachersPayTeachers is an incredible resource for teachers, and I've purchased many resources according to my students' needs. Many of my 2nd and 3rd grade students still struggle and confuse letters b & d. I was able to find posters and worksheets on different ways for them to remember the tricky letters. Using the TeachersPayTeachers gift card, I was also able to buy advanced vowel word-building mats with word lists to help my students remember the tough vowel teams. I'm always searching for resources to help my students in any way possible, and the resource from DonorsChoose helps me do a better job as a teacher.

Thank you so much for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park
