  • Appealing Books to Aspiring Readers

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation. These books have unlocked a door for my students. We have been using workbooks and worksheets geared to their reading level and they seemed a bit "simple" or "babyish". These books really appeal to them and get them even more excited about reading. Moreover, they get so excited when they are able to read a text and understand it! These books are geared for the older child, which makes them no longer feel "alone" in that they could only read worksheets, not books. The graphics are engaging and really catch their attention. I am so glad to have these materials and look forward to accumulating more just like them for my classroom library!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. O'Sullivan

  • Loving Literacy Wilson!

    Funded Dec 31, 2020

The Wilson Reading Program is fantastic! Even though these materials are being used remotely, they are still so effective! Currently, these materials are being used for ENL students who are fairly new to the country. Each day, more snd more progress is made with decoding new words and reading simple sentences!

The excitement from the students when they are able to read using the given materials is priceless. Although we are remote, I was able to distribute the consumable materials so that when at home, they are being used by the students. Without this program, we would not have had an appropriate program for beginning readers and for that, I am extremely grateful.

My hopes are to expand this program next year and reach even more students. The power to read is something you can't put a price on, and the appreciation from the students and myself are indescribable! Thank you will never be enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. O'Sullivan

  • Calming Artists Ready to Create Masterpieces

    Funded Sep 19, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students are loving their new resources. So far, we have worked with the watercolors trying out different strategies for crayon resist art. My students were amazed to see the reaction between the crayons and the watercolors. For our final crayon resist project we will be creating our own designs on the sketch paper, which will tolerate the watercolors better!

The students were amazed when first seeing the materials. I think the paint palette is most exciting for them. They feel like real artists and are so excited to paint each time. Before we had the paint palettes, we were using egg cartons! Needless to say, they feel they have been upgraded to the extreme!

Soon we will be completing more masterpieces on the canvases you provided us with. Pointillism and tape art will be upcoming activities that we are looking forward to. We could not have these activities to look forward to if it weren't for your kind hearts!

  • Replay that Lesson!

    Funded Jul 28, 2018

I can't thank you enough for your donations. Technology helps students in more ways than you can imagine. We were fortunate to receive laptops for our students but the headphones that your donations helped purchase take learning to another level. Within our classroom, our students are able to have individualized lessons that only they can hear. This means that no matter their reading level or native language, the lesson is tailored to their needs. Academic success is now happening for everyone!

Students love anything that is new and love hearing about how we obtained these items; through amazing people like you! They are excited to be able to use the headphones in conjunction with station lessons and individual activities. For some, they are struggling with reading or the English language and having others hear what they are learning may be a bit embarrassing. This happens no more now that they have the privacy of the headphones. We are able to make lessons for that specific student and guide them through activities appropriate to their learning level and language.

This amazing project has touched so many students. Both special and duration, general education and English language learners are benefiting and for that, I cannot thank you enough. The students treat them with proper care and are proud of the learning going on in our classroom. They even take the initiative to continue their learning at home, which is a giant step for us! Thank you again for your continued support!”

  • Making Art Come to Life!

    Funded Sep 5, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations! Our Art classes have been spectacular so far! The students were extremely excited and appreciative when our new supplies arrived. They cannot wait to complete all of the upcoming projects.

The tissue paper squares have been a hit! We have been creating various images by blending together colors that will represent that specific object. Recently, we create a fall tree with the changing colors of the leaves. We plan to use them again for other masterpieces!

In the upcoming weeks, we will begin to use the canvas blocks along with the paint to create images using an art style called Pointillism. This is a tedious project but the fact that they will be able to take home a project that can be displayed in their home is something that they cannot wait to share with their families.

These supplies have helped my students realize that their potential is sky high. Just because something looks difficult, does not mean that they cannot complete a similar masterpiece. Not only have you provided us with amazing resources, but you have also given the gift of confidence and love for the arts. For that, we can never thank you enough.”

  • Field Day Fun for PBIS!

    Funded May 6, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donations! Our school is so excited to host our Field Day this coming Spring. We are so happy and lucky to have received so many items for the students to enjoy when the weather gets nice out! It is so important for students to be rewarded for positive behavior and they will truly enjoy the break from the classroom.

The balls, limbo sticks, cones, burlap sacks and more will be the talk of the week during Field Day! It will mean so much to the students to have new items to use and a day where they can just enjoy all that they have worked for this year. We can't wait to use these amazing items!”

  • Sixth Grade Supplies for Success!

    Funded Jun 26, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donations! Our classroom has come together nicely because of your help! Welcoming new students into an organized room with new items was such a great feeling and I can tell the students appreciated it as well.

The seat sacks really help our students stay organized and help to lighten their backpacks, which they are truly grateful for. Our classroom library has never looked better! Brand new bins that you have donated have replaced old, broken bins. Learning in this classroom is much more enjoyable all thanks to you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. O'Sullivan

  • Supplies for Student Success!

    Funded Dec 2, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students are loving their new seat sacks! They are keeping their books neat and organized, and taking pride in their classroom. Our new book bins make our classroom library look top notch. It really has put a colorful element into our classroom, making it a more enjoyable environment!

During art, our students have used the copy paper as well as the crayons and colored pencils! Having new supplies is so motivating for them, and really makes them feel valued. These supplies made the class so happy. They would ask, "When are the seat sacks arriving?" They couldn't wait to have brand new items.

Once the students understood how these materials were obtained, they were very interested in the entire program. They are excited to create new projects and find other items that can be utilized in our classroom. Thank you for making my students smile, and making their education more fun and valued!”

  • Print It, Scan It, Show Off Your Work!

    Funded Jul 13, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous donation! This scanner and printer have made such a difference in my classroom already. My students have many resources that are necessary in order to succeed, and it is all because of you! I am able to provide my students with differentiated worksheets, at a moments notice. When students are absent or miss notes from a lesson, they receive them the next day and will never miss a beat! They also enjoy having technology in our classroom and are impressed when I am able to make a copy of a document for them in an instant. We all appreciate what you have done for us! We are extremely lucky.”

  • Organization Is The Key To Success!

    Funded Jun 11, 2014

Thank you so much for your donations! My students have received their supplies and are very excited. The Seat Sacks were a great hit and the students love that they now have enough space to store their belongings without having a bin that is overflowing underneath their desk! It really does make a difference and the fact that they are brand new makes my students feel even more special.

We are using the seat sacks and supply caddies everyday. These items will be sure to last us a long time and help keep our room tidy and neat. It is wonderful that my students are learning organizational skills at a young age. Hopefully this is something that they carry over into the next grade level!

Instead of my students rummaging for their notebooks or loosing items, we all know where to look- in their Seat Sack. My students were familiar with this item and love that they now have their own. It is especially helpful because they do not have to carry so many items with them, since they now have a place to store them in our classroom!”
