Beginning to Learn our Letters and Numbers
Funded Dec 29, 2023Thank you so much to all who donated to my latest project. Studies show the important of introducing letter and numbers at an early age.
Children's knowledge of letter names and shapes is a strong predictor of their success in learning to read. Knowing letter names is strongly related to children's ability to remember the forms of written words and their ability to treat words as sequences of letters.
Understanding of math concepts is important, as preschool children's math knowledge predicts their later mathematics achievement. Early numeracy skills (remembering small numbers of objects) fostered in the home and classroom also might influence future developments in number and math skills.”

Sensory Play
Funded Nov 28, 2023Thank you so much for supporting another project for my 3k classroom. Students love using all their new sensory toys. Their favorite is the light table. Children can be creative in their own way without boundaries. They love the sensory tubes, as well as all the other toys in this project. Students are excited for centers because there are new toys to discover. When a child is playing with a sensory activity, they are:
Working on independent play skills
Math skills (capacity)
Imaginary play / dramatic play
Life skills (pouring, scooping, transferring)
Fine motor skills
Tactile learning
Developing self-control”

Funded Nov 9, 2023Thank you so much for helping me get my project "Get Ready for 3k". My items have come in and the children have been using them. They are so happy to see new toys in their classroom. So many benefits have having stem toys in the early childhood classroom. Exposing children to STEM opens a new window. STEM at a young age supports their overall academic growth and develops early thinking and reasoning skills. The real-life skills that children develop when learning STEM help make them better problem solvers and learners. So it's not too soon to foster the incredible curiosity and inquisitiveness that are innate to children.
Thanks again”

Funded Jun 14, 2023Thank you so much for making my project come to life. The students love playing with stamps. They make up stories and create scenes. They loves making characters out of the shape stamps too. These stamps are easy to grasp which makes learning fun.
Children are born with the ability to play. It can stimulate their physical senses, know themselves, explore the world, and inspire various possibilities through playing.
According to scientific research, the brain development of children aged 0-3 can reach 60% of adults, and the brain development of children aged 3-6 can be as high as 80% of adults. That is to say, the abilities that children acquires before the age of 6 will be with them in their whole life.
Thanks again :)”

Cozy Couch
Funded Jan 10, 2023Thank you so much for making my donor's choose project become a reality. Appropriate preschool classroom furniture can equip a class with a vehicle for classroom management and can give the children the ability to feel independent and secure in their space. You will see that you don't even have to be directly present for these actions to occur. You will be amazed, day by day, how the children will know what to do, understand what is expected of them and your classroom will be one with a strong sense of purpose. The students love the couch. We take turns using it each day. They use the couch for reading, listening to a story, or when they feel upset. Its has become a great area for children to use throughout the day. So greatly for people like you who help our visions become a reality. I look forward to creating more projects with your help.”

Center Time Toys
Funded Nov 29, 2022I would like to take the time during this busy holiday season to thank you so much for donating. You have made 15 students very happy and given them more positive opportunities for imaginative play. NYC public school students come from all walks of life. Some have not been given the opportunities to play with some of the toys we provide in the classroom. That alone is such an amazing feeling to know you have helped a child in that way.
I want to encourage you to continue to give to donors choose whenever you can. Any little amount helps!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”

This classroom project was brought to life by an Anonymous Classroom Supporter and 7 other donors.Dramatic Play Toys
Funded Oct 21, 2022Thank you so much for supporting my dramatic play project in my 3k classroom. Dramatic play benefits are numerous. In addition to supporting creativity and self-expression, dramatic play can help children learn real life skills and social skills that can serve them throughout their lives, from engaging in dramatic play for toddlers, to playtime in their preschool classroom, and beyond.
The benefits of dramatic play include:
Learning conflict resolution, helping children to learn creative problem-solving skills alongside their peers
Exploring self-empowerment, allowing kids the opportunity to make choices, act out their feelings, and find a new connection to themselves
Learning math and literacy, particularly in play that includes playing with numbers (like the grocery store game)
Engaging in language development, encouraging kids to express themselves in different ways, whether playing a role or playing as themselves
Embracing self-regulation, especially in role-playing where children are expected to fulfill a particular part in the play scenario”
