Science Word Wall -a Colorful Resource for Student Success
Funded Dec 23, 2024My students were very excited to have a color printer installed in our classroom. I have to limit access to the printer because they want me to print EVERYTHING in color! I recently was able to print a first draft of our first WORD WALL. This is an evidenced based learning tool that shows my students that I am dedicated to their success!
Our first unit of study that will benefit from this practice is on the rock cycle. Our county has been hit with debilitating snowfalls that are in the "record breaker" category. This has resulted in the cancellation of school and remote learning days since January 3, 2025. It is more important the ever that I create word walls every week since we have missed so much instruction!
I am very grateful that your contributions allowed the purchase of the Color HP Smart Tank printer. Just in time for hyper paced learning!”

Organization, Seating, and Beading for Science Superstars
Funded Nov 13, 2024The moment my students laid eyes on their alternative seating they were already scheming how to earn a spot at the "classroom campsite"! I have added a backdrop that looks like a forest, a cardboard campfire and even marshmallow smores for an extra treat.
My students LOVE the chair pockets for storing their personal belongings- no more computers on the floor!
The UV beads were received with a cheer. I shared with my students that they get to create a bracelet then go outdoors to watch the bead change colors. They have no idea what UV solar rays are so I can't wait to teach that lab to them in the coming months. I even had to teach a mini lesson about the UV rays because they asked so many questions about the UV beads.
Thank you for playing a vital role i my students' educational journey. Also, thank you for supporting me in my efforts to build the scientific community one classroom at a time!”

Funded Jan 5, 2025This project was funded by caring individuals like you! My students were so excited to see our new equipment.
We will be completing our first lab "Starburst Rock Cycle". This lab will teach students how sediments are transformed into sedimentary, then metamorphic and finally igneous "rock". Each group will be able to heat their "rocks" without teacher intervention. Students will learn to follow directions to get the desired outcomes.
Thank you again for supporting our classroom and for supporting my science superstars!”

Data Tracking / Force and Motion
Funded Feb 22, 2024My students were so excited to get our delivery! Two students who normally have no interest in science class worked diligently to unwrap and investigate all the items in the Force and Motion kits. They begged to do practice runs with the cars included in the kit and I willingly allowed them. Playing with lab cars morphed into successful completion of group lab work. Win! Win!
The Hydroponic garden was equally well-received. One student begged me to let her put the garden together as she was "not allowed to do things like that" at home. She quickly and successfully unpacked and assembled the garden with little help from me, then shared her accomplishment with her peers. One student adopted her excitement which cultivated an interest in gardening. This student has such great success with the garden that he has been named the "resident farmer"; he likes to share the produce he grows with his classmates whenever he can.
Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom. Your generous donations provided positive learning experiences for my students, and it has been wonderful to watch my students learn to love science without realizing they were hard at work.”
