  • Books for STEM

    Funded Jan 24, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Books for STEM will align my curriculum with high level text to help support our youngest learners. These texts will help build background knowledge and make real life connections to our units of learning. I cannot wait to see the students' faces when we un-box all of these exciting new books.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McKenzie

  • New Year, New School, New Science Classroom!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you so much for the generous donations to our 5th grade donors choose project. All of the materials secured through this donation not only helped brighten the walls of our classroom, but also helped support student learning and growth.

5th grade can be a difficult year for students, especially transitioning to a new middle school. Having something as simple as a cool sticker to put on their water bottles or chromebooks can really make a student's day. By funding our project not only did you help fund supplies for projects, but you also helped brighten a student's day by helping them earn a sticker or fidget.”

  • Basic Necessities Needed To Supply A New Classroom

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for being a part of this great group of people coming together to support and encourage the incredible growth taking place in my classroom. Every day we are pushing ourselves to learn more and become stronger in learners. Having these essential materials and whiteboard clipboards will allow my students to bring learning outside as well as completing tasks that we were unable to complete before.”

  • Coding Geniuses

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations that helped fund my project. This project was so important for students because most of them have not had the opportunity experience coding in the classroom. They were beyond excited when I told them our project had been funded. Once the materials arrived we were so excited to open the boxers and begin coding using both the coding mice and the other coding cards to help them on-line. My students' faces lit up seeing all of our new materials and having enough coding mice for each group of 2 to have their own!

Thank you again for seeing my passion for teaching and supporting my classroom.”

  • Getting Organized to Learn

    Funded Jan 7, 2020

Thank you so much for all the organization tools for the science classroom. They were the talk of the school by both the students and teachers! It is amazing how such simple and small things can make our teaching days so much easier.

Students love that all of the materials we need for a science class fit directly into one easy to carry container. They took care of these (for the short time we were at school with them) as if they were there prized possessions.

These containers made even the simplest tasks like sharpening pencils and colored pencils much easier to do. It also allowed me to keep all of my white board markers from falling onto the floor. Again I thank you for your generous donation to the science classroom.”

  • Learning in the Field and Hiking to a Waterfall

    Funded May 7, 2019

I cannot thank you all enough for your generous donations to our Mountain Classroom field trip! Our students had a blast on the trip. They enjoyed all aspects from the bus ride to the hiking on the mountain. Thankfully, the rain stopped as our bus pulled up to the mountain lodge. This trip enabled all 17 of our students to experience nature like they never have before and we thank you for that opportunity!

Some of our trip highlights included; crossing rivers using wooden bridges, playing camouflage in the forest, trying to catch tadpoles and salamanders in the streams and ponds, as well as viewing small waterfalls and trickling brooks.

Since coming back to the school students have been sharing their experience with the younger students at our school. They have been talking about the plants and animals that they saw on the trip. Most importantly this opportunity has open my students eyes to the natural world and many are talking about the possibility of hiking with their families or moving to the country when they get older.”

  • Help Fill Our River Tank

    Funded Oct 7, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to fill our fish tank to get it up and running. The materials that were ordered were needed in order to get fish, anoles, and snails living in the tank as well. Students enjoy coming into class to see where the anole is camouflaging itself or where the fish or snails are in the ecosystem.

After a long month of staring at an empty tank when I told the students that we secured funding to fill our tank they were ecstatic. They were beyond excited to get the animals in and start recording observations.

Thank you again for making real-life, hands-on work a possibility in our science classroom. These are things that my students can not see in their neighborhoods so having these things in the classroom to share with them mean a lot.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McKenzie

  • Where Does the Animal Live?

    Funded Sep 20, 2018

Thank you so much for your very generous donation to our science classroom. By donating to our project you have helped create so many hands-on opportunities for students at our school. Students have learned all about various reptiles, birds, mammals, fish, and other animal groups and thanks to these materials they did this with an fun hands-on aspect!

When I revealed the items to the students they were ecstatic. They were so excited to "dig" into the artifacts and learn all about the animals within the kits. As you can see from the pictures their enthusiasms was contagious.

I plan to use these materials with many students to enter our school in years to come. I know that students learn best from hands-on artifacts and by donating to this project you have helped enrich the education of many students!”

  • Water Bottles and Healthy Hiking Snacks

    Funded May 7, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to make this hike become a reality! Our students had a fantastic time and enjoyed the many new experiences involved during the hike. Students started the day off by playing cooperative, team building games in the field at the base of the mountain, hiked through the trails to enjoy lunch by a waterfall, and then hiked back to the lodge and caught some bull frogs.

Overall, the day went off without a hitch. All students were exhausted, yet exhilarated after the 4 hour hike. I hope that they hold on to the memories made on this trip for years to come. Than you again for making this trip a reality for my students!”

I service the entire population of my school, which is K1-5, about 275 students, part of which are autistic students. I find that at this age level students love science, especially when it involves models or other hands-on equipment. Our students are eager learners, explorers and little scientists!
