Hello!! My students love to learn and they are so excited when I allow them to get out of their traditional seats and move around the classroom. I would love to do away with the tables and chairs I now have and incorporate areas where they can be comfortable as they learn in a nontraditional environment. My dream is to have stools at our small group table, this would help students wiggle and move the way they like to while participating in guided reading activities with me.
My students face many obstacles in school. Coming in, sitting down and not getting up does not work for them. I want to incorporate bungee chairs, so that students can bring their Chromebooks to that area and create with technology. I also feel my students would benefit from rocker chairs in the reading area because movement is key to learning for my ADHD students. They would benefit from sitting on donut balls at lowered tables for hands-on activities that allows students a sensory seat to aid in comprehension. I am passionate about bringing flexible seating to my classroom in order to incorporate movement and nontraditional learning opportunities for my awesome kids. Thank you for your help!!
