Funded Oct 22, 2020Your donations helped fund our remote learning project and made all the difference in our student's learning lives and social emotional well being while learning through a global pandemic. As a result, all of my students showed significant progress in all subject areas. Exactly 100% of students showed progress in their reading levels! More importantly, their social emotional needs were addressed throughout the year.
With the resources we received, our remote learners enjoyed high interest books and engaging/interactive learning opportunities. Funding gave them access to materials, resources and quality instruction that they would have had in the typical classroom! For example, I purchased digital resources with the teachers pay teachers gift card, engaging read-alouds and manipulatives such as magnetic number bonds, ten frames, base-ten blocks and fraction models, all which supported LIVE remote lessons.
The students were excited and engaged when they used these items. The materials supported our remote learning community in providing easy, engaging and streamlined VIRTUAL learning in MATH, literacy and social emotional content areas. .The students truly benefited and lit up when using all the social emotional literature. The teacher read-alouds and lessons supporting their SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING was critical to their success as remote students. This helped provide guidance and support to these students who needed more SEL and opportunities to share feelings about how to navigate remote learning in the absence of the physical classroom and their peers. Our students were thrilled to be learning and were engaged using all the materials we received.
Your funding of this project supported this remote learning community and will continue to support the in person learning community as well. We continue to use all these resources and social emotional read-alouds during in person learning continually addressing not only the children's academics but their emotional needs as well.
Thank you for your support of our SUPER 2nd Graders!”
With gratitude,
