  • Cricut Creativity for Culture and Climate

    Funded Mar 11, 2021

Thank you for your generous donation, which has enabled me to acquire a Cricut machine for my school. Your support will have a lasting impact on the learning environment for students.

The Cricut machine will significantly enhance our ability to create visually appealing and educational environmental print and visuals. With this technology, we can efficiently produce a wide variety of supports and materials that will enrich the learning experiences of our students.

Once again, thank you for your support.”

    Mrs. L. Williams

  • More Virtual Hugs

    Funded Aug 25, 2020

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! This was a supplemental project to extend our stuffed animal school mascot to our growing Kindergarten population and it has been so popular! This project has been so special for our new students as it has helped them feel a connection to school even during this virtual year.

The little stuffed rams are integrated into our morning announcements and teachers have the students use them as reading buddies during story-time. Sam the Ram has also been used for role play and for teaching students about virtual norms and character traits.

We are so happy to have Sam the Ram as part of our school community. Thank you for your support and making this happen!”

    With gratitude,

  • Empowering Students with iPads

    Funded Mar 10, 2016

Having an iPad mini has made a huge impact in terms of my work with students. I utilize it to keep track of my 10+ daily guided reading groups through an app I downloaded called the Guided Reading Organizer. I also have literacy apps that students are able to use individually or in pairs while I work with other students in the group to analyze reading behaviors.

Students have also been able to create podcasts, listen and watch themselves reading, and take photos of their work. It's been extremely versatile and has enriched how I am able to approach our lessons.

Thank you for making this happen for our students!”

  • Little Laptop

    Funded Mar 10, 2014

Thank you, friends, for helping me acquire the remaining technology needed to utilize the Mimio that was funded previously! We are not issued laptops as teachers, and the one I had been using was no longer functional. As a result, the interactive white board technology wasn't able to be used. With this funded project, we hooked it up right away to the Mimio and off we went! The great thing is that students are able to use the laptop to get to literacy websites, I'm able to create lesson plans and data reports, and we could use the new Mimio technology. For a little laptop, it has made a powerful impact. Thank you for your support!”

  • Little Leveled Readers

    Funded Feb 16, 2014

Thank you, thank you, thank you! From the moment we opened the boxes for these 300+ books, these leveled readers have been fabulous for my classroom. My students are struggling readers who need LOTS of practice reading books at their instructional, and even independent level. They are significantly behind grade level, so these books are ideal for them to use for practice.

These leveled books are leveled at A, B, C, and D, which allow my students to feel successful as they build their fluency. Having six copies of each title allows me to use these books in my small group teaching station and every student has his or her own copy which helps with tracking text.

Additionally, we received content area books for social studies and science. The great thing about these is that they cover grade level content and they are much easier to use than a large grade level text book. They are filled with beautiful color pictures and also, we are able to learn about text features such as table of contents, glossary, bold print and captions.

These resources are increasing my students' exposure to quality books and they are excited to practice their reading skills. Thank you for providing these much needed resources that will improve the literacy skills for my 1st graders.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. L. Williams

  • My Mighty Mimio!

    Funded Dec 9, 2013

This has truly transformed my teaching! The students have all used Smart Boards occasionally during special resource classes and it is always eagerly anticipated.

Now, with this technology in the classroom full time, we are learning to incorporate it into our everyday instruction. The best part of the technology is the active student engagement. They have the chance to actively participate and not just watch me manipulate the information. It keeps them on their toes knowing they are responsible for the answers.

It has been great way to revitalize my teaching!”

    With gratitude,

  • Tactile Tablet

    Funded Dec 5, 2013

Thank you, thank you, thank you! My students were so excited to receive this tablet. Any chance to "play" games is such a great motivator for them. For me, it makes instruction easier because I can customize instruction to each student's individual needs. They think they are just playing!

What I've discovered is that these Kindle HD Fire tablets are the ideal tablet for my first graders. They aren't as expensive as some other tablets, but they offer all the apps needed for my first grade curriculum and they are easy for the students to use.

Thank you for making my instruction for my students so much more effective!”

    With gratitude,

  • Double Duty Classrom Computer

    Funded Dec 18, 2013

We have received several tablets this year for my classroom and the students are always so excited to have an another one to use during small group instruction. The beauty of this tablet is that I am also able to use Word documents and prepare my lesson plans and case studies. I am also able to load software for my interactive Mimio equipment and use this tablet with a projector to create more interactive lessons for my students.

Truly, it serves double duty as the students use it as a tablet with educational apps tailored to their level, and I can use it for my documents and record keeping. Happy students, happy teacher, happy classroom!”

  • Protective Type Keyboard Covers for Tablets

    Funded Jan 24, 2014

This is one of those projects that the students see and don't realize the value until they actually use it. We have loved our iPad and Surface tablet and use both of them daily, but I am always worrying about the 1st graders (or me) dropping them! One of the best things about tablets is that they are portable, and one of the worst things is that they are portable. It's great to have the kids relaxing on pillows in our class tent playing educational games, but when they have questions and have to walk with them across the room, I always hold my breath a little. Now, with the protective covers, we are still careful, but I can breathe a little easier.

Additionally, as we move into more writing based activities, having the attached keyboards makes it much easier for students to learn formal keyboarding skills. Both keypads are actually type pads, so there's a real keyboard click when hitting the buttons.

Thank you for making our technology purchases more durable and easier to use!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. L. Williams
