  • I Have a Voice!

    Funded Mar 5, 2024

Thank you for allowing me to give my students a voice. Their faces lit up when they saw the microphones. It made it so much better because they were gold.

We were reading a story during our English Language Arts period. I had a couple of volunteers to read. Usually, it's the usual students. Then I said, I am having a hard time hearing you over the air unit (which is a true statement and often said). I took out the microphones and told them that this was how they would be heard from now on. I asked who would like to read and every hand came up. My eyes got watery and my heart felt so warm and cozy. I was so happy. I have a couple of students who are ELL students and they struggle to read. One is struggling with his letter sound and even he wanted to read!

We even did some sing-along karaoke to help them identify words and they loved every moment of it.

Now whenever we read as a class they are always asking if can they use the microphones.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lee

  • Force and Motion = Fun STEM Project

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

When I showed my students the boxes they were so excited. They couldn't wait to tear the boxes open but of course we didn't and handled the items with care. Even one of my students screamed on the top of his lungs. We used these marble runs as a stem project.

We started small as a class. The goal of the project was to get your structure up and balanced. A couple of groups were able to achieve it and was able to test their marble. My most behavioral student was engaged and in awe as he ran his marble. He was working well with his team with no complications.

This was such a great gift to my students and myself. This was like Christmas came early.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lee

  • Flashlight Reading

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you for the kind donation. My students love to read. Not a lot of 4th graders like to read. For the ones that didn't enjoy reading, when I introduced "Flashlight Reading Fridays" even they got excited.

When my students first saw the flashlights, they were in 'awe.' The flashlights were small enough to fit in their hands but not too small to deliver the purpose and experience. The flashlight are light that when holding them to read, their hands and arms did not get tired.

My next steps are to use these flashlights not only for Flashlight Fridays but also for scavenger hunts in other school subjects.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lee

  • Let Us Show You What We Can Do

    Funded Oct 18, 2023

Thank you for allowing my students to show others what they are capable of doing. They enjoyed the donations and couldn't stop talking about the crafts they created. They were so proud of their work that they were willing to hang it in the hallways and give to fellow teachers.

When they first say the supplies, they were so excited that now they have more supplies to work with to create their artwork. They really enjoyed the pip cleaners and goggly eyes.

So far we have created floating witch during our Halloween party. They really thought it was cool that their witch were able to "fly" on their plate.

    Thank you.”

  • Germs Away!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you for the kind donation.

My students were thrilled when they saw the refills for the automatic hand dispenser.

We have set out hand sanitizer by the classroom sink which is also right by where my students line up to leave the classroom. As students walk by the hand sanitizer they use it. It is so much easier and faster when it is automatic.

I realized my students are using hand sanitizer more because it's not a pump but an automatic dispenser. Since it's by the sink, students are remembering that they need to wash their hands.

    Thank you for the donation.”

  • Taking a Barrier Away for Students

    Funded Oct 6, 2023

My students are having so much fun creating artwork within the classroom.

On Halloween, we would be able to do some fun moving activities. My students were excited that we had other materials instead of using only construction paper. They were pleased to see the googly eyes of their Halloween witches.

Students were excited to bring their work home and show their parents what they created. Not only did they want to show their work to their parents but they wanted to show the staff at our building. Usually, they are shy to show off their work to others but they are overly excited to show other students.

Thank you so much for the kind donations and helping my students share their work.”

  • 4th Grade Snacks

    Funded Sep 15, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations. We use these snacks every day and I don't have to worry about running low anytime soon. The mints are awesome. Students love playing for snacks. Its gets them more motivated to play the educational games.

When my students saw the packages, their eyes grew big and wide. I had to remind them that they are not going to eat them all at one time. I explained to them that they will be for rewards, little pick me up during testing days, during tutoring and so much more opportunities that the can earn the snacks.

Thank you again from Mrs. Lee's 4th Grade Class.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lee

  • Rain, Rain, Go Away!

    Funded Aug 24, 2023

Thank you so much for your kind donations. My students and I can not express how grateful we are.

In Missouri, there are days that are too hot or consisted of rain. On those days my students are stuck inside for an indoor recess. Before the donation they had choices of coloring, reading/listening to a book, word puzzles, or free time time on their Chromebooks. They are a bit saddened when it's indoor recess.

My students eyes grew as the saw the new games. They couldn't believe it. One student said "It's like magic" while I pulled one game out after another from the box. Most of my students are ELL and loved learning how to play the new games.

There is laughter all around and they can't wait for more indoor recess.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts here in Mrs. Lee's 4th Grade class.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lee
