As a lifelong reader, I want nothing more that to create that same passion in my learners. They are curious and opinionated, responsible and kind, and they are hungry for new learning. Having a classroom library will enable them to get their hands on books from many different genres and many different authors. They will be able to read books at their own level as well as discover the joy of looking through more challenging books just for the pleasure of the experience. Books will be treated as friends, to be read and reread as they practice their fluency and think like readers. Having some cozy places to relax will give them a place to enjoy the journeys they will embark on with their books. Additionally, with different backgrounds, come different reading experiences in the home. With new pillows and beanbags, a child who might not have a quiet area of their own, will be able to find someplace calm in a corner of the classroom.
