Pre-K Wants to Play!
Funded May 10, 2023Thank you so much for gifting us with lots of playground equipment for our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten courtyard. We visit the courtyard multiple times a week, along with several other classrooms. Your donation has helped to reach many of our youngest learners.
The students squealed with excitement when they saw all of the new items for them to play with! Our parents were also very impressed that we were able to update this space and have expressed their gratitude.
In the future, I hope to keep adding materials to our courtyard - like a shaded area, rubber mats, and more sensory experiences.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Our children are growing in great ways because of you!”

Mrs. K

Funded Mar 30, 2023Thank you so much for gifting us with the book "The Colors of Us" by Karen Katz. Our Pre-K students love being read to and looking at picture books. Because of your generosity, we were able to give each one of our students a copy of this book to take home. Many of our students do not have access to picture books at home, so this book will help build their personal libraries.
When we gave out their books at our end of the year celebration, the students cheered! They were so excited to have a book of their own. Many of them started flipping through the pages to see what this story is about.
Thank you again for helping us give our students a little joy. We hope to inspire students to develop a love for reading and learning!”

Mrs. K
Pre-K Wants to See The Light
Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you all so much for helping to fund our project of getting light table for our Prekindergarten classroom! We have been using it each day during our independent center time. Students are eager to choose this center and engage with materials there. Even though we've only had our light table for a short amount of time, we have used our light table to offer a variety of educational opportunities for our young learners. For instance, we have participated in small world play and explored penguins in their arctic habitat; we have used magna-tiles to map and build our neighborhood in Pittsburgh; we have developed our fine motor skills by tracing simple drawings on transparencies to share with our friends; and we have explored sorting translucent manipulatives by two or more categories. The list goes on and on! We are all so very thankful that you chose to donate to our project.”
