    Funded Mar 19, 2022

Thank you so much for the amazing order of classroom supplies we received! From the paw print sit spots that complete our class theme of pugs to the folders for next years class we are so grateful. Students will get to use these supplies for years to come and for that we can not thank you enough. My students were thrilled to receive all the Amazon boxes and just had to take turns using the vacuum. Some of the supplies were used in classrooms across the school as shared supplies and those are going to be well loved by all!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. King

    Funded Jul 28, 2021

Thank you so much for your amazing donation. As you know I have been striving to make my classroom for first grade the best it can be to help students learn. Because of your donation I was able to create awesome choices for students to learn in an inclusive and effective environment.

Through your donations, we received a few beautiful wooden lap desks that allow the students to work sitting on kneeling on the floor. This helps students who are less effective when learning in the traditional desks. We also have been able to implement some super amazing floor desks that allow students to work on materials sitting in their own space around the room instead of in desk groups. This allows the students to spread out and have space to work in a different way. We also received the awesome wiggle cushions for students seats. These help students with sensory input and output challenges. They are textured and can be calming for students that require that to focus, but because they are filled with air the students are able to wiggle around on them without disturbing students working around them. We also received some awesome headphones for students that need the room a little bit quieter while working or testing. These are so good for all students and are often one of the first things to be picked when students are given an option! The book bins have also been incredible for allowing students to have their own books and material storage around the classroom. They are also an essential part of organizing our classroom supplies and library!

We know our words will never be enough but we want to thank you for everything you have given to our classroom. Not only will the students this year love and care for these wonderful materials, but students for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. King

Students need to learn in a way that best suits them. This especially applies to students with special needs. For some students this means sitting in a traditional desk like many schools provide. For others it means sitting on a wobble pad on the floor with a lap desk. Some need to stand and others need noise canceling headphones to block out other students. This is the goal of my classroom project. I want to provide students options to take control of their learning in a way that works for everyone.
