Teach, Learn, Inspire, Grow, Give back
Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you everyone for your continued support. This was truly an experience of a lifetime! It is so hard to pick just one major impact or highlight from my trip to San Diego. The conference started off with a dang. The keynote speaker was right on target discussing "why we teach." It was incredible to hear the passion in his voice. It was an amazing reminder in so many ways of why we do teach for so many different reasons on so many different levels. Especially through these past two years. There was an incredible vibe and energy throughout the entire conference. From the second the "game" started until the game ended. Teach Your Heart Out knows exactly how to touch on all parts of education. They know how to keep you engaged and they know exactly what you need. The goodie bags were spot on with t-shirts, notebooks, mugs, water bottles, and all different kinds of teacher necessities from boards, sticky notes, post-its, decals, and more.
All of the workshops provided great takebacks and insights. Lights, Camera, Teach, put the teachers on the stage. In reality, it's what we do every day. This speaker said it perfectly. all day, every day we are actors on a stage. We have something to prove and we have to do it with flare if we really want it to stick with the students. He gave some great pointers and games to keep students engaged and motivated while you put on your show. And of course, if you are in the teacher's world, who doesn't LOVE Gerry Brooks! He is so real! A blank mug and some markers is all you need to paint a masterpiece. These are our students and we should remember that every day. Acceptance of everyone. He made some amazing points that I have already started implying into my everyday practices. I don't want to give away ALL of his secrets. You have to go see him speak yourself!
I could continue to go on about the literacy and writing block and the math applications. There was so much that benefited me from this conference and I can't express enough that it would not have been possible without each of you. I thank you again, and I look forward to my next adventure to continue my professional development in order to provide the best services for my learners.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Iacomini
