  • Give Our Robots Life!

    Funded Jan 28, 2017

The current generation has so many exciting technologies to explore and work with. We have been fortunate enough to offer our students Robotics to work with. Because of your generous donations, we have been able to provide never-ending life to the robots they create.

The students love creating new robots and then coding them to move. These batteries provide endless opportunities for these kids to play with the motion of the robots. Through this "play" they are able to learn how machines work and move.

It has been great to see how all students excel with this technology. Students who may struggle with traditional subjects can still soar with robotics.

Thank you again for your generosity and making this happen for our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Harris

  • Dream It, Draw It, Create It!

    Funded Dec 16, 2016

Thank you for your generous donations for our 3D pens. These have given new life to our students' imaginations. Students have been using these pens to plan, draw, and improve on ideas that, in the past, they have only been able to accomplish in 2 dimensions.

They love to draw their ideas into 3-dimensional objects. Seeing their ideas come to life is exciting for them. Students are often asked to think of objects in 3 dimensions which can be difficult for students who don't typically think that way. Now they can try it out and make adjustments to their vision.

Without your generosity, this would not have been possible. We are truly grateful for you donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Harris

  • Reliving History Through Literature

    Funded Apr 5, 2016

    Dear Donors,

These books have been a great addition to our classroom. As we know as adults, when you are interested in what you are reading, you are able to enjoy more and learn more from the material you are reading. My students had the benefit of learning through literature this year.

Fourth grade students in California learn about the California Gold Rush. This year, my students were able to learn about the Gold Rush through these 2 wonderful stories, instead of just reading a textbook. They learned what it was like to be a child traveling to the gold fields of California. They read of the many hardships and few rewards that were present during this time.

I am confident that these students have a greater understanding of the Gold Rush and will have a better chance of retaining this information than students I have taught in the past.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Harris

  • Let's Get Going!

    Funded Oct 21, 2015

We can't begin to thank you enough for your generous donation. Because of your donations, we now have 14 headphones to use with our 14 Chromebooks. Additionally, the cases help protect them.

With all of the Chromebooks and headphones, we are able to work on projects in pairs. We can research new topics and plan and create presentations. We can also take turns and have individual time on the Chromebooks. We are now able to practice our Math facts and spelling words in a fun way daily. But most of all, we get to learn how to use today's technology to enhance our own learning. This is a skill that will carry us into our futures.

Thank you again for making this possible for our class. We are so grateful.”

We can't begin to thank you enough for your generous donation. Because of your company, we now have 14 Chromebooks to use for 28 students. Additionally, the charging station gives a great place to store and charge our technology and the cases help protect it.

  • Gold! Gold! Read All About it!

    Funded Jun 7, 2015

Thank you for the generous gift of books to our classroom. My students are very excited to read the story of a boy their own age traveling to California during the Gold Rush.

We are just beginning to learn about the Gold Rush. The anticipation of reading By the Great Horn Spoon, keeps them interested in all things Gold Rush.

Having their own book in hand while reading the story is important to aid in their comprehension. You have been very generous to make this donation to a class of students that you are not associated with. We are very thankful.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Harris

  • Treasuring Technology!

    Funded Oct 16, 2014

Our Chromebooks were so generously donated. Our class really wanted to make sure that they were protected well so that they would last a long time. Additionally, we wanted to be able to charge them easily and to be able share work on the projector. Because of your generous donations, this has become a reality in our class.

We are able to use the items you donated on a daily basis to protect our technology and to enhance our learning. With our Chromebooks, we practice Math facts and skills, explore Social Studies and Science on a new level, and publish our writing pieces.

Again, your support and generosity is greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Harris

  • Chromebooks For Our Future!

    Funded Oct 7, 2014

My students and I were so excited to receive these Chromebooks. It was such a generous gift to our classroom.

We use these every day for mastering our Math skills and play Math games. We are able to create documents that we can edit and share with each other. We are exploring our Social Studies and Science books at a whole new level. We are learning how to write computer code through fun games. A whole new way of learning has been opened up to us.

Without your generous gift, we would not have access to these opportunities. Because of you, we are getting more out of education than we thought possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Harris

  • It's Time for "Time for Kids"

    Funded Aug 22, 2014

This project has been a great addition to our classroom curriculum. The students can't wait to open their new magazine each week to read and learn about stories that are interesting to them.

My students have been learning about current events written in kid-friendly language. They're reading stories created with their interests in mind. This encourages them to delve into these magazines with enthusiasm.

The students are able to draw on information from the articles and use it to create opinion writing pieces. They have informed discussions with each other about current events. Teaching current events and other non-fiction writing and reading has become easier with the access to these magazines. We look forward to what these magazines will offer each week over then remainder of the year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Harris

  • iPad for Common Core Education

    Funded Feb 28, 2014

My class has been excited with the addition of a second iPad. They really enjoyed the first one, and have loved the extra time they get having the second one. Additionally, they can listen to apps privately with the headphones.

The students have really taken off with their Accelerated Reader goals since they have the access to the tests with the iPads. They are more excited about reading. The more they read, the more tests they can take, the more points they get, and the closer they get to their goals.

It's been wonderful to have this extra iPad to give access to smaller groups to do research. We also now have the covers to protect our iPads.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Harris

I work with 4th grade students. Since technology is such a huge part of our lives, I integrate it into my classroom. I work with my students on how to be responsible on social media and communicate effectively through our class blog. They learn through a variety of educational opportunities online that they wouldn't otherwise have access too. I feel it's important to teach students to be responsible, respectful, and safe online.
