Books Beyond Screens: The Phantom Tollbooth for Each Student
Funded Dec 3, 2024A giant THANK YOU from our 5th grade virtual students and the 5th grade teachers! We just started reading The Phantom Tollbooth this week, and it's already a HUGE hit. They are absolutely captivated by the imaginative story, the clever characters, and especially the fantastic figurative language. Every morning, they're practically bouncing with anticipation to dive into the next chapter and see what linguistic and literal adventures await Milo.
Thank you again for your support and for making this experience so enriching for our students.”

Funded Aug 14, 2024I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous support of our project! Your contributions have helped create a welcoming and user-friendly Canvas digital learning platform for my students and their learning coaches at home.
Thanks to your support, students can now easily navigate the system, locate assignments, and follow a logical, systematic flow for their daily learning. This setup has been incredibly beneficial for both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, allowing students to engage effectively. It's been wonderful to see how these improvements empower students and their learning coaches to connect with the material more deeply.
Thank you for investing in our students' education and helping us create an environment where everyone can thrive!”

Funded Aug 1, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donations that provided Studies Weekly newspapers for our students! They absolutely love the time spent away from their computers, diving into these engaging articles and annotating their thoughts. The excitement in our online classroom is palpable as they share their insights during group discussions, and it's wonderful to see their enthusiasm for learning come to life.
Many students also enjoy reading their newspaper alongside their learning coaches. This collaboration not only enhances their understanding but also strengthens their connections with family members. Your support has truly enriched our learning environment, and we are grateful for your commitment to helping foster meaningful learning experiences among our students!
Thank you once again for making such a positive impact!”

Science Olympiad Is Just Plane Awesome
Funded Mar 16, 2024Science Olympiad is something that our online learners look forward to every year. The sign up sheet keeps growing every year. It can be particularly challenging to prepare our team with limited opportunities to work together in person. Thankfully we can count on family members to help out with the coaching. When it comes to supplies, we rely heavily on the gracious donations from citizen philanthropists.
The "Just Plane Awesome" event was particularly challenging this year. These airplanes were extremely fragile and we weren't sure that our students would have a plane that was competition ready. Imagine the thrill of learning that not only was the plane competition ready, but our team medaled! You can get a glimpse of the enthusiasm in the pictures that I shared. Thank you for making that moment possible!”

Battle of the Books - Part 1
Funded Oct 16, 2023Thank you for helping us to supply students with their own copies of the books from the Battle of the Books list this year.
We have a great group of 4th grade students who competed in our Battle of the Books competition this year. This project allowed us to put some of the books from the required reading list in the hands of these students early enough for them to have plenty of time to read and prepare for competition.
Thank you for helping us to build confident readers. We are so excited to see what our students can accomplish this year!”

Leading By Serving - Beta 23
Funded Oct 8, 2023As we head into the summer months, our Beta Club is excited to be able to unveil their Free Little Libraries! Our families will be returning materials soon and when they do, they will be able to select a book for their child to read over the summer.
This project gave our students the opportunity to strive toward the Beta Club motto "we lead by serving others".
The libraries have been assembled and painted. All that's left to do, is to stock them with the books we collected earlier this year and place them in an accessible area for our families to visit.
Thank you for making this possible!”

Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you for providing my students with materials needed to complete hands on activities at home. Students who are learning at home deserve to have a common set of materials to complete science activities. These supplies allow us to do exactly that. Each time we start a new investigation, students are able to go to their take home science kits and pull out exactly what they need. The peat pellets give everyone a consistent growing medium for our seed project while we learn about the environment. The brass brads work great for making models with construction paper and adding them to our interactive science notebooks. Having standardized measuring tools allows the students to compare their results accurately even though they are all in different physical locations when they complete the activity.
This project has made a hugely positive difference in their learning. Thank you so much!”
