Bam! We Can Program Robots!
Funded Aug 22, 2018It is with glee that I send this message to you. Our robots and coding games have garnered so much interest in my classroom. The students cannot get enough.
My younger students enjoy watching the robots come around and say hello. They beg for new tricks each time. They will be starting with the coding games after Fall Break. Keep your fingers crossed that we know our directions!
My older students have enveloped coding and are currently perfecting their skills. These creative thinkers have done things already to surprise me. While we are all learning together, I have a STEAM group daily that does different coding projects. They are really enjoying all our new goodies and encourage me daily to do another project to add more to our classroom.
Thank you for making this dream of mine come true. I am excited with what the future holds.”

Funded Apr 5, 2017The funding of the project is incredible. It is going to allow me to work in small groups my students. My school has a very high population of refugees, immigrants, and students from over 31 countries. It's an amazing atmosphere with lightbulbs turning on daily with lessons being taught.
One thing I have noticed is that my students haven't worked with American money, nor do they understand the complete idea of place value. We certainly do not teach borrowing or carrying any longer. Math tasks that last over the span of 3-5 days have replaced daily lessons. These magnetic items are going to allow me to lead whole group lesson, pull smaller groups, and have center rotations for students with manipulatives that will allow students to learn more through group collaboration!
Thank you again for everything. I appreciate everyone's generous donations. There are simply not enough words to thank you all!”

Life Cycles...From the Egg to the Adult
Funded Mar 11, 2017I cannot thank you enough for helping fund this project. Last year, we did chicken eggs, but had to borrow everything from the local 4-H center. While it was great to borrow, having the items already helped the students take greater ownership of the project.
When the material first arrived, the looks on my students' faces were priceless. Never in their lives did they think they would be involved in something like this. We set everything up and watch for over 21 days at the growth of the chicks. We candled (put a bright light up to the egg) the eggs in the dark and were able to see them form within the egg.
We had 5 chicks hatch and all have grown so quickly. They are being moved to a local farm today. Now that I have the materials, I will be able to carry on this project year after year with my students. I know it has made a huge impact on them, as well as the other students in the school. Thank you again for helping me fund this project. I wish I could hug each of your necks!”

Mrs. Kahley
It's Wobble Time
Funded Aug 15, 2016Dear Donors,
I cannot begin to tell you the impact these Wobble Chairs have had on my students. They love coming back to the table for guided reading and math groups. It is fun to watch them move and read at the same time.
When we got the boxes, it was time for us to go to lunch. The students were determined to open them and just be late for lunch. I had to promise to pick them up early in order to get them out of the classroom. Upon returning, we opened one box and put the first Wobble Chair together. I then randomly called on students to come and try out the chair. Each chair got rave reviews.
Since our donation, we have had several visitors to our classroom simply to check out the Wobble Chairs. Parents, teachers, and other students from the school found out about our amazing Donor's Choose project and continue to ask when we will get additional chairs. While I think it would be amazing for every child to have their own Wobble Chair, I think we will be satisfied with six chairs for now. We have plans for additional Donor's Choose projects in the future. I hope you will consider helping us again!”

Funded Dec 21, 2012Words cannot express the happiness in my children's faces when they saw the box of new center games arrive in the classroom. It is such a better time having centers with the students when you have the right games, with appealing pictures, proper parts and interesting games!
My students have been challenged with these new games. They enjoy playing them, which allows me to further their learning without the tears of a "worksheet" or something similar.
With the new Common Core Standards, it has been essential to purchase new items for the students to use in my classroom. These specific center games have provided the hands-on instruction needed to complete all the necessary tasks needed for the new common core standards.
Thank you again for helping enhance my classroom!!!”

Funded Oct 22, 2012Words cannot express the gratitude that I wish to send everyone who donated to my class project for these books! They are so impressive! My kids have had a blast already.
With the new Common Core standards, finding all the recources have been difficult. These books are an answer to a gigantic prayer for help!
It is not everyday that a simple book could make someone so happy, but trust me, I am one happy teacher. My students look forward to what I pull from the new book bin each and every day! From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!”

Funded Mar 16, 2011Words cannot express what the Six-Trait Writing Crate has done for my student's writings. The songs included in the crate are incredible, easy to remember, and my students love singing them.
I have had to ask them numerous times to put their journals away so that we might complete necessary items in class. Do you know how exciting that is? It's incredible.
Thank you all again for donating to my project. It is an incredible way to teach children to write and help them develop the love of writing.
