Ipad To The Rescue!

Funded Dec 1, 2020

There will never be enough words to express my gratitude for this particular project! Currently, I am teaching Kindergarten in-person as well as remotely at times. The beginning of this year was a difficult journey for myself and my students. We were working completely remotely. I was working off of one screen which was making it super difficult to teach because I was unable to see all of my students' beautiful faces when presenting a lesson. Receiving the gift of the Ipad and Apple pencil changed our entire experience. It allowed me to be able to see my students while teaching remotely due to the second screen, and enhanced my lessons and the students' engagement tremendously. I was able figure out how to use my Ipad as a white board, which greatly benefitted all of my visual learners in my class.

When we are working in-person now, I am able to use the Ipad to mirror on our out-dated Smart-boards in the classroom. Since our Smart-boards are very old in the classroom, they are not able to work interactively. My students are now able to use to the Ipad and Apple Pencil to take turns showcasing their mathematical thinking and letter formation with their classmates. Seeing my students shine both remotely and in the classroom using this device has brought me extreme joy and more importantly, my students.

As I stated earlier, there is nothing I can say in words that will truly help you to understand how appreciative and thankful I am for your selflessness during this time. Thank you for all you do for teachers everywhere!”

With gratitude,

Mrs. Cortes
