Trombones For a Brand New Music Program

Music is such an important aspect of a child's education, and many of our students have never been in a school with a music program. Classroom Instruments For A Brand New Music Program
Funded Dec 31, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donations! It's been so much fun watching the kids learning with their new instruments. We've been working on rhythmic patterns and reading music throughout the year, but having instruments in their hands seemed to make the concepts sink in so much more clearly! They had a blast, and kept wanting to trade instruments for the bongos!
These instruments are going to impact students throughout our school district over the next few years, as we will be adding younger grades to our building next year. I am looking forward to watching their musical skills grow with the materials that you have so generously donated!”

A Golden Opportunity: Cymbals for Graduation
Funded Jan 26, 2011Thank you so much for your support of our music program! Our students have been so excited to have the cymbals in our room! We are just starting a march by John Philip Sousa, and the kids are excited to learn how to play these instruments!
Thank you for helping our program to get off the ground. The kids have been frustrated at having to alter or omit parts in their music, but you have given them the opportunity to be REAL musicians! They are already talking about future music, and what things we will be able to play next year with our brand new cymbals.

A Percussion Class with no Percussion Instruments
Funded Dec 7, 2010Thank you so much for the donations of a snare drum and bell set! It has made an incredible difference in the lives of my students! The pride that the students are beginning to show in their program is amazing, and it's been wonderful seeing their skills improve. They take such care with their new instruments, and pack them back into their cases at the end of class (their idea, not mine!) to make sure their new drum stays safe. We were able to showcase two of our students on the snare drum at our last PTO meeting.
With your donations, we're really watching the students excel. One of our students was able to take a snare drum solo to contest (on a REAL drum, not a practice pad) and received the 2nd-highest rating possible...and all this after just starting in band this year! He is SO excited, and ready to conquer the next level of difficulty in the competition pieces. Next year, we hope to expand our band program into the elementary and middle school, and your donation will reach even more students in our district!

A Caribbean Christmas With No Caribbean Instruments
Funded Nov 5, 2010These instruments have made an incredible impact on our music program! My band students have had an incredible sense of respect since they have REAL instruments to play! Several of the students in our program come to us from the special education program, and it's been amazing to see them progress, and to see the amount of care that they take with their new instruments.
Our Winter Concert was a big success, mostly due to your donations! The band was able to play alongside the choir, and we plan to use these instruments again in another joint number with the choir this spring. In addition to the band, it's been great to have these instruments handy to pull out with my general music classes to demonstrate different musical concepts!
We hope to expand the band program to include elementary and middle school students next year, so your instruments will have an impact across our whole district! Thank you so much for supporting our new music program!”
