  • Growing Knowledge and Food!

    Funded Feb 21, 2025

Thank you so much for making our dreams of a school garden come true! We are well on our way to a very well-established garden that all 521 students get to participate in. Each day they are so excited to see the progress, the plants, the sprouts, or whatever garden task is happening.

They are most excited to get to taste the fruits of their labor when the time comes.

Please know that parents have also sent words of appreciation, letting us know how neat they think it is that we are providing these experiences for their students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bennett

  • We Aren't Too Chicken To Learn!

    Funded Mar 1, 2025

Your donation providing a brooder, feed, and shavings, as well as other chicken supplies, has provided our class with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Students got to watch chicks hatch and then keep them safe and warm in our classroom in our brooder. The chickens had a warm and safe environment in a space that students could easily observe. This was fantastic for kids because many of them never have the opportunity to see a chick hatch nor have one readily available to watch for a few days. Immense joy filled our school, and STEM was the most popular class when we had chicks!”

  • Learning in Color

    Funded Mar 28, 2025

Thank you so much for your donations to help create an all-inclusive environment for our STEM students. We greatly appreciate your ongoing support of our learning communities and students. This printer will help me provide color picture tasks for those students who cannot read yet. This will last us for many, many years and will be cherished in our room!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bennett

  • STEM Rocks! Rocks, Fossils, and Gemstones Come to Life!

    Funded Jan 4, 2025

The new resources that you so generously provided have made such a difference in the learning in our classroom on the topics of rocks, gemstones, and fossils. Your donation changed our learning from looking at photos online to being able to study hands-on. The students were thrilled to discover we had been given real fossils.

When students first found out what we had been given, they cheered, I promise! They have so enjoyed being able to pick up an actual fossil, study it, touch it, and see the size of it. Having the objects in their hands has greatly increased their interest, and they have been so engaged in the learning process.

As the students gain responsibility for handling quality learning materials, we will extend our learning to more hands-on time with less oversight as the students get older. We will also build on the basics that we learned about fossils, rocks, and gemstones this year by extending our learning with cross-curricular content next year.”

    Mrs. Bennett

  • Plus Plus STEM-gineers

    Funded Oct 31, 2024

Our students were so thrilled to see these come into our classroom. They have plenty and are able to create independently or in small groups. Students become immediately engaged in the hands-on lesson when Plus Plus blocks are distributed. They are diligent about taking care of them and choosing their colors carefully.

The concept of simple machines comes alive as students are able to carefully craft their very own working object. They have built incline planes, pulleys, and wheels so far. These manipulatives also help increase fine motor skills in our littlest learners by having small, intricate parts that piece together.

Thank you for helping learning come alive in a classroom and helping students be able to learn in a fun, hands-on way.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bennett

  • Engineers are Near!

    Funded Aug 10, 2023

My STEM students were thrilled to receive the Makey Makey units. They excitedly logged in snd got ready to use them. Their first project was to use them to make the Makey Makey Ckassic Piano. They leaned so much during this lesson! They learned about circuits being grounded, organizing materials, sound, teamwork, and the list goes on! When I told them our lesson for the day was using these new materials, some of the screamed in excitement. Your generosity absolutely took our STEM room to a new level. By the end of the year, I am hopeful the 4th graders will have moved on to the scratch coding portion.”

  • Brain Building

    Funded Nov 2, 2022

All 500 of my students were bursting with excitement to learn new things and have hands-on learning experience, thanks to your generosity. They have learned hands-on circuitry, coding, how simple machine work, chain reactions, and the best thing: they all got to do it on a level and in a way that was most appropriate for them. These things are just the tip of the iceberg for what these learning tools you provided will do. I will continue integrating them throughout lessons all year. You have changed their young engineering minds in a great way! Thank you for helping build their brains.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bennett

  • STEM World Changers

    Funded May 8, 2020

Your gift brings smiles and joy to my little ones each day! The Imagination Station that your materials built, is the single most chosen and favorite learning center in my entire classroom. The wonderful hands-on learning cannot be replaced by pencil and paper. My kids are learning cooperation, community, and teamwork all while doing what they think is playing!

One little girl was having a hard time coming in each morning and at the end of a day, she played with the magnetic gears and looked at me with bright little eyes and said, "I can't wait to come back tomorrow!" Your gift made a little one want to come to school, made my job easier, and taught her some fundamental engineering skills. When she is having a hard day, her favorite thing to do is play with the gears, make a design, and watch them all work together.

The all-time favorite in the STEM World Changers' project that built the Imagination Station is the Marble Run! It came with regular and light-up marbles and the kids beg to play with it each day. The Lego's are a smash hit as well and we have to rotate how many and who gets to play with these things because they are the "best things ever!" Right now, it stays assembled in its largest form and rests on top of our Imagination Station shelf for the kids to enjoy.

Construction style learning tools are not commonplace, but you all bought my sweet kids a great drill and screwdriver tool that is Math based and they love! They use it and the little plastic screws to replicate patterns and even create their own. Kids have such a great time using kid-friendly and safe versions of adult real-world items.

This project was a great way to extend my ability to accommodate the most diverse of learners. It reaches students at each level of learning and provides them a way to create and express what they know or want to create, right where they are. The Imagination Station provides equity to each child that walks in my classroom door. Some students may play Lego's and build the same thing over and over. Other children reach for the MagnaTiles and work with friends to create an elaborate castle. The best part is, they love what they are making and love seeing what their peers are making, creating a positive environment of inclusion and celebration.

As a teacher, you brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart by providing my class with such incredible learning tools and providing them with opportunities to explore things that could lead to a future career. Working in a Title I school, the funds are simply not available to purchase these items and my classroom was in need of STEM learning tools. Thank you is vastly insufficient to truly express my gratitude to you.

Moving forward, I intend to add an electronic component to my Imagination Station where they can create and work on individual devices.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bennett

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) are the careers of my Kindergartener's future! They are learning and exploring the basic concepts and exploring each area at this young age. They really love to create, invent, and watch actions and reactions. These kids are our future scientists, engineering, teachers, nurses, tradespeople, and world changers. These materials will be used for lessons and exploration, as a group and independently. Help my littles learn to create and think while they learn in a fun way. Please consider joining me in providing my students for many years to come with wonderful tools for learning! Investing in the future is a great way to participate in the lives of students.
