  • Let's Get Techy!

    Funded Nov 17, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our project! With the increase in using technology this year having a charging base or four is almost necessary! We use our iPads each day, and there are only so many outlets in a kindergarten classroom.

We also are loving the use of AppleTV in our classroom. With most of my kids being in school for the first time, and using our devices for the first time, it makes it so much easier for me to share my screen so we can do all of our activities together!

Again thank you so much! We always appreciate your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hoffer

  • Let's Read a Good Book

    Funded Mar 3, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation towards our new books. We love them so much. We loved reading all of Dr. Seuss' crazy and whacky stories! They were so funny and entertaining to listen too! We also loved the new books about the impactful and powerful women in history! We strive to one day have our children's' children read all about the amazing things we will do someday!

Again thank you so much for the generous donation, our class has loved them, and we know that Mrs. Hoffer's future classes will too!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hoffer

  • Let's Get Comfy!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

We are so excited to have received our new flexible seating. The tent is already up in our classroom, and the kids are all begging to sit in it to read. The students were very interested in the wobble cushions during open house. We also got a ball chair that the students are also very interested in. At the beginning of the year, we are going to have to learn how to use each piece of flexible seating, one at a time. I know that the flexible seating will really help with my students, and help them make seating choices that are perfect for them!”

  • We Believe in the Power of Yet

    Funded Aug 18, 2019

We have loved our new books! They have really helped us with helping our brain GROW! We believe in the power of yet, all these books have helped us realize that when things get tough, we can overcome it! We might not be able to read YET, but we are learning how. We might not be able to do addition YET, but we are learning our numbers and that will help us do addition in the future.

We greatly appreciate your generous donation, you are helping us to become Wilson WINNERS! Thank you for all your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hoffer

  • E is for Engineering

    Funded Oct 4, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations. We are a classroom of 18 boys and 4 girls who love to move! The engineering tools are going to help us by giving us an outlet for our energy, but still doing something productive. Our world is continually changing, and the jobs our students are going to be doing, are probably not even created yet. That is why STEAM is so important in our classrooms today. This Donors Choose project fits the E in STEAM. The tools we are going to be getting, are going to help us learn how to create things and learn to code. This is the beginning of life long skills they are learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hoffer

  • Let's Get Techy 2.0

    Funded May 10, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students and I are loving the flexibility of the stylus and keyboard. It makes the use of the Surface GO so much easier to use with our little hands. The screen protector give me a piece of mind that when I let their little hands take the Surface and use it, that I don't have to be super concerned that they will scratch or break the screen. We are just learning how to use it, but I know that once we get the hang of it, it will be a wonderful tool in our room.”

  • Let's Get Techy!

    Funded Feb 16, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous support. We got our Surface GO in and we are absolutely in love. It has made learning so much more enjoyable. Mrs. Hoffer is now able to work the SmartBoard without moving across the room to the desktop. The students are very interested in the Surface GO as well. We have used it in small groups while learning about our letters and sounds. Integrating technology is something that is important as we are moving towards a more technological world. Although we have added a little bit of technology, my students still love to play with legos and playdoh.”

  • Let Our Light Shine Bright!

    Funded Jan 12, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students absolutely love the new tools for our light table. The peg board is like a giant light brite! They think it is the best thing ever! We also love the sensory beads and balls for the light table. They love running their fingers through it. I just switched out to the beads last week, and they are loving them just as much as the green balls. THe pyramid stackers are so much fun to play with! We truly appreciate your support of my Wee Littles, your generosity has not gone unnoticed.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hoffer

  • Don't Be So Dramatic!

    Funded Jan 30, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students are loving all the new costumes and food in our dramatic play center. Their imaginations have been growing! They have been firefighters fighting kitchen fires. They have been police officers arresting bad guys. They have been cooking away with our new cookware. They have been grocery shopping with all of our new food. We can't thank you enough for making a donation to our classroom. You are helping build the foundation, on which the future Wardogs' education is being built.”

    With gratitude,

  • Let's Get to Painting

    Funded Dec 8, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Donors Chose and you have allowed us to get much needed supplies for our classroom. We could not wait to get to painting with our new easel! The kids were just as excited as I was when the box came in. We have it assembled and the kids have turned into painting fanatics! Their art work looks like it belongs in the most prestigious Art Galleries. We can not thank you enough! Our future artists thank you for being a vital instrument in their budding art careers!”

In years past I have witnessed my students love for light. I have had overhead projectors that my students love working on. However, the overhead light is too bright for my students to work with frequently. Adding a real light table to my classroom will allow my students to get hands on with early math skills, and will also allow my kiddos to work their fine motor skills. Both of which, in Pre-K are starting to develop. A light table will enhance their introduction to early skills that will be built upon through out their elementary career. With a light table, they will be able to explore with manipulatives, work on patterning, sorting, sequencing and one to one correspondence. They will also be able to play with light and colors. The excitement that this will bring to our room will bring interest to early skills.
