  • Constructing a Safe Place

    Funded Nov 12, 2021

I am extremely thankful for your generosity. This Desktop computer came in the perfect time. A time where my students needed this device the most. Now they have a computer that is compatible with the apps we are using in the classroom. This update is a blessing! They can design better with this device. It is faster than what they had. Our live meetings run smoother as well. One at a time my students are getting the update they need. Thank you so much for this update that will bring my students education to a higher level of success.”

  • The Elf on the Shelf

    Funded Oct 10, 2021

During this pandemic, many of our students have suffered mentally and emotionally. As a teacher, I am always trying to bring a little joy to my students in many ways possible. Thank you for allowing my students to have a great personalized Christmas present. This project will allow 113 students to have a very special gift and will also allow them to create something with their own imagination. I am very grateful that there are still companies that believe in the power of public education. Thank you for allowing my students the opportunity of being excited about their learning.”

  • Guinea Pig Classroom Pet's New Home

    Funded Jul 15, 2021

The impact of having a class pet in the classroom is huge. My students were thrilled to see the new guinea pig's house in the classroom. At first, they didn't know they had a class pet. When they saw the large, two-story house, they tried to figure out who it was for. Their faces when they first saw their class pet, Sergeanta, inside the house were priceless. What great way to introduce compassion and caring for an animal. Not only is the guinea pig getting benefitted with the house, but the students are learning a life-long lesson. Many of them don't have a pet at home, but now they have a pet in school. Thank you for allowing my students to have this experience.”

My students are from the very Tip of Texas, bordering Mexico. Kids whose first language is "Spanglish," and lacking vocabulary and background knowledge. However, they manage to overcome all those obstacles with their determination and their family support. I am very fortunate to be their teacher, to be part of their academic growth. I, myself, was a bilingual student in middle school. I understand what they go through. That's the reason I became a bilingual teacher. My students are grateful kids; eager to learn no matter the obstacles they have to face!
