Build a Maker Mentality at ESE!

Help me give my students a Cricut Machine to help us build a 'maker mentality' among our learners. This machine alone would make creating fun projects more accessible, which will help nurture creativity and innovation for all!

  • Building Up the Basics!

    Funded Oct 19, 2022

Thank you for all of the amazing supplies you have donated to our class! When we started receiving all of the boxes of supplies, we were so happy and excited to use them!

The pencils and erasers have been a big help! We have used the pencils a lot to work on our handwriting and improving our written work (and the erasers to help us when we make mistakes). We love writing down our observations in our Science Journals- it makes us feel like real scientists!

We use the dry erase markers every single day! They are helpful when we are working on our math fact fluency, practicing our Really Great Reading (phonics) skills to spell and decode words, and when we are working on math problems on the computer.

Having extra printer paper has made printing individualized practice so much easier. There are so many resources we can now print out because we don't have to worry about running out of paper!

We are excited to keep using all of these new supplies as we continue learning in Third Grade!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hill

  • Multiplication Masters With Multiplication.com

    Funded Oct 24, 2021

For third graders, multiplication and division fact fluency is a critical part of being a strong mathematician. Our students work hard to master these facts, but sometimes struggle with the rote memorization of facts. Using this new program, Multiplication.com, has made fact mastery fun, engaging, and exciting for all of our learners, and allows them to progress through their facts at their own pace. We have used this program almost daily since we first gained access, and the kids never get sick of it.

Thank you so much for the impact you have made on our class and our learning! We are forever grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hill

  • Second Screen So They Feel Seen

    Funded Oct 12, 2020

Since receiving the materials for this project, my classroom instruction has completely transformed! Instead of small squares on a low resolution screen, our class is now so clear that it almost feels like they're here in my classroom with me. Being able to see them all at once helps me give them the attention that they need. The clarity of the picture makes it so much easier to read their expressions and respond to their needs.

I am so grateful to our donors for making this project a reality, and am excited to use this second screen for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

  • Personal Feedback in our Virtual Classroom

    Funded Oct 27, 2020

Though it has been a short period of time since this project was funded, it has already made a lasting impact on my ability to serve our learners effectively. Instead of having to use a mouse to try and write out personalized comments on student work, I am now able to use the iPad to handwrite directly on their work to make a more personal connection with them and their work.

When editing their writing, I can annotate directly on what they've done to guide them in the process. When looking over their assignments, I can circle things they should look back at, star things they've done well, and write notes of encouragement to show them they're doing a good job.

While distance learning has made it tough to maintain normalcy, this new tool for my classroom has brought back some of what has been lost.

Thank you so much for making this possible for us. You are so appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hill

  • Connecting With Our Culture Through Reading

    Funded Mar 3, 2020

Our school is so grateful for the generosity of these donors. We take so much pride in the culture and diversity of our building, and now we can help to nurture that pride in our learners through literature! Words cannot express how much this means to us, and we cannot wait to share with you all of the amazing things that your donations have helped us make possible!”

    With gratitude,

  • A Trip Around the World

    Funded Jan 22, 2020

In our building, our culture is what makes us who we are. Our Multicultural Festival is a celebration of those things that make our building such a unique place to learn and grow. With the help of your incredible generosity, we will be able to make this event the incredible experience that we are hoping for.

Thank you for playing such a crucial role in the success of this event. We are SO grateful to you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hill

In order to celebrate the diversity represented in our school community, our school is putting on our 2nd Annual Multicultural Festival. At this festival, we will be showcasing the many countries that our students originate from, and sharing with our school and community the things we have learned about the culture of each of those nations. We believe that it is this diversity that makes our school so unique, and we are grateful to have an opportunity to showcase what makes us who we are. This festival was truly incredible last year, and we are looking forward to continuing this for years to come!
