Currently in my classroom, I have absolutely no place for my students to get comfortable and dig into reading a good book. Students practice their whisper reading in hard chairs at their desks, or on small carpet squares on the hard linoleum. The couches, pillows and carpet will provide a comfortable area for flexible seating during our independent reading time. The book display will show recommended reading options to help students "shop" for a book to read. My goal is to not only help my students increase their reading fluency, but also to develop a deep love and passion for reading.
