Do you remember the first time you started school? Making the adjustment from being home with those that have raised us to being at school for 7 hours can be tough! Lots of my students, when they enter my 4 year old Kindergarten class are used to being able to take naps or to have access to snacks whenever they get hungry. For a lot of my students, entering into my classroom is the first time they are away from home. Students have a difficult time adjusting to eating on a strict schedule, and get sick very easily with the germs that are present when lots of small children are together for so many hours in a day. Cleaning wipes, a vacuum cleaner, and a mop will help decontaminate and clean all of the surface areas in our classroom. Once we have created a clean and healthy atmosphere, it will lead to healthier students, improved attendance, and a better education! While students are in the classroom, it is important that they are not only safe from germs but are able to focus when completing instructional activities and they cannot do this when their brains and bodies are not fed. Once the afternoon rolls around, my students get very hungry! A variety of healthy snacks will provide my students the nourishment they need to focus on their learning activities!
