My 5th grade is looking to incorporate LEGO Mindstorm EV3s into the classroom to help facilitate the understanding of engineering. With the new Next Generation Science Standards we are looking at ways to teach that don’t just involve opening up a text book and reading. We want the students to have a more hands-on and self-discovered approach. I truly believe that if they “discover” the answers for themselves they will retain the information, and be better able to apply it in the future. I would like to obtain more EV3s so students can work with a partner to get a more hands-on approach I am looking to obtain additional EV3’s to be used in my classroom. I currently have one EV3 to be used among 24 fifth graders.
