I have been teaching Social Justice for a few years now with a class set of a core text. This year, I would like to supplement the core text with children's nonfiction and fiction books so that students can choose an independent reading book and share with the rest of the class. I want a variety of books that represent every area of tolerance as well as every ethnicity and culture. Student should be able to see themselves in the book they choose. These books showcase various cultures/races; therefore, student learning regarding social justice and tolerance will be greatly increased.
