This year I have the fortunate opportunity to teach 21 diverse and free spirited first graders. Their curiosity for learning drives the direction of our classroom to explore topics more in depth. These students truly have a passion and love for learning. My students are particularly engaged in lessons involving interactive technology that allows them to be hands on. I believe it is my job to give them the tools necessary to explore and develop their thinking. These first graders need the opportunity to foster a spirit of questioning through guided investigation. Learning these necessary skills early on will help them to gain independence in the classroom, as they will be expected to utilize higher level thinking.
