Popping Our Way Through Math

Thank you so much for your donations! We are currently learning addition in our math unit. My class was so excited to practice their addition skills with these popits! They cheered and didn't want to stop playing. My students forgot that they were actually practicing their addition facts. What a wonderful way to learn through fun. Now my students can keep practicing and enjoy math. They are going to use them at least once a week and look forward to our fun math game days!

We have been discussing the “power of yet” and Growth Mindset. In recent years, growth mindset has become a valuable learning tool for people of all ages. Growth mindset is all about practicing resilience when we are met with adversity. Introducing these skills at a young age helps children build better relationships and interpersonal skills that will aide them in and outside of school. The students will use these materials to create “selfie-planters”. These planters encourage the students to grow not only their plants but also their hearts and minds.
