A picture is worth 1000 words -- or points
Funded Apr 30, 2010Thank you for your generous donation of digital cameras. My students were so excited when the camera arrived. They immediately began coming up with ideas about how to use them. They didn't need me to suggest ideas. These cameras will be used daily by the students as we study geometry, weather and other topics. One child wants to use the camera to show plant tropism. Another wants to use a camera to made a picture gratitude journal. A third wants to make a visual dictionary for our English language learners. The ideas keep pouring out of the children due to your gift. I am seeing creativity and possibilities that I never dream existed -- because of you.
In these tough economic times it is often difficult to obtain the materials that will ignite enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge in the hearts of our students. Your donation allows both of those -- and more.
Without donors like you, students across the country would not have these wonderful, enriching opportunities. Thank you for making a positive change in the lives of these children.
With all best wishes.”

Mrs. Foote
We've Got Environmentality
Funded Apr 21, 2010Thank you. I cannot begin to fully express my gratitude for your for your donations to my classroom. My students are intrigued, excited and eager to learn more about solar energy as a result of your gift. Setting up the solar oven and cooking food in them provided my students with life lessons. My students are having fun learning about solar energy -- and how it can be used for everything from cooking food to heating houses. They have learned that living is the desert has many, many benefits.
Our state is struggling with budget constraints and that makes obtaining classroom materials challenging. Not only will my current students benefit from this gift, but students in future years will benefit as well. My students will never forget these lessons. Their lives have been changed for the better because of this activity and your generosity.
Without donors like you, many classes would not have the life changing experiences that your donation provided.
Wishing you all the best.”

Mrs. Foote
This classroom project was brought to life by Pershing Square and 8 other donors.Butterfly Preserve
Funded Dec 22, 2009Thank you for your generous donation to our butterfly garden. My students learned about the environment and butterflies as a result of your generosity. On a daily basis, my students notice and talk about the flora and fauna of the desert -- and how urban sprawl impacts the butterflies. As a result of your gift, their eyes have been opened to the impact that each of them have on the environment.
Decisions that my students make, today and in the future, will be better decisions because of this lesson. This lesson would not have been possible without the support of your generous donation. In years to come, my students will remember their 5th grade in school with delight and with a deepened sense of responsibility to the environment.
Thank you for your help and support. While we struggle with budget cuts on a daily basis, we have found an oasis of support in your generosity.
Wishing you all good things!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Foote
