Help Us Do The Hokki Pokey to Stay Focused!
Funded Nov 19, 2013Thank you so much for making this Christmas the most exciting classroom Christmas party ever! The Hokki stools were delivered late one day about 2 weeks before Christmas vacation (about 8pm one night). I stayed at school late that day and wrapped all of them so it would be a surprise for my students the next day. We had a classroom Elf throughout December that would get into mischief every night and the students were eager to come to school everyday to see where she was and what she had done that night. The next morning all of the boxes were wrapped in green paper and put into the shape of a Christmas tree. I emptied one of the boxes before I wrapped them to trick the students into thinking that they were all empty and they were just Christmas decorations (if you look closely at the first picture you can see the Elf on top with the Christmas star). The students saw the "empty" wrapped boxes for about 10 days and never even thought of the chance that they could be filled with Hokki stools!
The look of excitement and joy when they opened them up was enough to melt my heart. They were so happy and were cheering so loudly that the classes next door to us could hear them through the walls. That is definitely a moment that I will never forget.
Today was our first day back in school and the students can't stop smiling and telling me how happy they are. They are truly touched that so many people care about them. In fact, a few of my students said that we should have named our classroom Elf "Elf Elsa" instead of Snowflake. We are so thankful and touched by the love and support we received from her giving page and all of our incredible donors. Every person who donated has such an amazing heart and we want you all to know how much you helped make 22 students so incredibly happy! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You guys are the best!”

Save Our Memories!
Funded Aug 30, 2013I want to thank you all for your support and generosity in supporting my project and fully funding our new camera! I enjoy being able to take pictures of the children during play time, learning time and capturing their growth for the parents to see when they cannot be in the classroom with us. I also enjoy taking pictures of the children and their families during our school events. We have several events at school and being able to take a family photo to document parent involvement is very important. These are also great for sending home so the parents can add them to their memory books of their child. My goal is to make a class video using the pictures to send home with families at the end of the year. I could not have done this without all of my donors believing in me and seeing the impact this has for my classroom and teaching! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!”

Funded Sep 5, 2013Receiving the iPads from our wonderful donors was the highlight of the school year for my students! They are so excited to be able to practice math skills. I have noticed that even struggling students have taken a new interest in math and are able to apply their new skills in other areas. We rotate the iPads throughout the classroom almost daily where students can work on differentiated math games. Your gift has also been invaluable to me, as well. With the implementation of our new Common Core State Standards, greater emphasis has been placed on the mastery of money and use of decimals. The iPad has become my 'assistant teacher' for students that need additional support with those skills! We are all so grateful for your generous contribution to our classroom.”

Funded May 22, 2013Thank you very much for the iPad! My students now have daily access to an iPad in the classroom! They are exposed to a myriad of enriching, engaging, and meaningful experiences that allow them to learn, develop, and hone their 21st century skills. These skills consist of critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, creativity, and innovation. For example, the Lexia and Achieve 3000 programs allow my students to develop their reading and comprehension skills with phonics instruction and reading comprehension activities on these differentiated websites. Students will use this iPad to research social studies concepts throughout the year, and will be working on it to master many math skills that we will be learning in first grade. With this iPad, my students now have access to web-based learning tools daily in the classroom. THANK YOU!”

Funded Aug 20, 2013Thank you very much for helping us protect our brand new iPads! Our new cases and screen protectors will give the students security that if the iPads drop, they will be OK! They will be excited to know that they can use the iPads without the fear that they will ruin our new investments if they accidentally bump or drop them. We truly appreciate your generosity and kindness!
We will be using our iPads (with our new cases and screen protectors) in math, social studies and language arts activities. Apple has so many educational apps that the students will be thrilled to use. The iPads (with our new cases and screen protectors) will make our curriculum come to life for the students. There are so many amazing things we will be able to do with this technology!
Thank you so much again from the bottom of our hearts for helping make our classroom fun and educational! Donors like you truly make a difference in my students' lives. We look forward to sharing with you all the exciting things we will be doing!”

Thank you so much for your generous donations. They have given these students the opportunity to explore a whole new world of technology.
I have been able to use this iPad to engage students and raise their interest in learning. Students who normally struggle with math, are now totally engaged and excited to learn. There are many apps that go directly with our math lessons, and many others that will be used to expand their knowledge on the concepts we are learning about in all subject areas.
Thank you so much for your support!”

Funded Jul 27, 2013WOW, these stools are AMAZING!!! I can't believe how much easier it is for my little ones to focus when they are allowed to move while working and listening. I've noticed a dramatic difference in my students' work when they use one of the stools. Their writing is neater, they are able to follow directions because they are more focused, and they sit safely.
Originally I ordered 2 stools to help a few of my students who have a hard time sitting still without rocking or tipping over their chairs, but now I know they are beneficial to ALL of my students. We are DREAMING BIG and just put on another project to hopefully receive an entire class set of these stools. Please check out my new project at:

Thank you so much!!!”

Funded May 23, 2013Thank you so much for your kind donation to fund my classroom project. My students and I are thrilled that we have an iPad mini for our class. We use our iPad mini to work on various math apps to reinforce the concepts we are working on in class. They love using it to work on identifying fractions, memorizing their basic math facts, and telling time. Throughout the year, we will also use the iPad to research biographies, information, pictures, and videos of our civil rights heroes. We will be using it when we learn about Martin Luther King Jr., George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and many other important Americans.
Once again, thank you for all you do to support public education!”
