I have the wonderful pleasure to start my teaching career at a specialized charter school where most of my students are on the Autism Spectrum or have a Learning Disability. These students are sweet and kind, but remembering many supplies each day is difficult for them. Therefore, I am trying to provide as many basic supplies for my students in the classroom as possible. However, being a brand new teacher, I have little to work with. This project is to help fulfill my student supplies needs for the year, such as hand sanitizer, easy to read clock, colored pencils, markers, and crayons - which really help my students visualize mathematical patterns and processes and allow me to teach some note-taking strategies. I also need loose leaf paper to help with student organization and note-taking, sensory putty to help with stress and anxiety management, manipulatives like dice and darts to provide a hands-on experience while studying probability and hole punches, glue sticks, and tape. I appreciate your support in helping me provide a resourceful classroom environment for my students this year (and many years to come).
