  • New Chromebook for Learning

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you for giving my students new and more rugged Chromebooks to use in our classroom. As with any technology, Chromebooks don't last forever especially in a classroom of 25+ 8th graders. My students use the Chromebooks on a daily basis and many of my older ones have seen better days. Also, the Google operating system on my current Chromebooks is set to expire next year. So, it is imperative that I start replacing and updating my current classroom set. This newer device will replace one of the older ones and ensure that my students can continue to use them each day to learn about our world, history, economy, finances, and many other social studies topics. Thank you again for your support of schools, teachers, and students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Farmer

  • Escaping History

    Funded Sep 30, 2019

Thank you so much for contributing to my class. The use of technology has really changed the way I teach and how students engage in the classroom. One way is through digital breakout games using Chromebooks and hands-on materials. These locks will add a fun twist to these engaging activities where students have to solve puzzles to "break out". They really enjoy these kinds of activities that link content information with problem solving skills.

I can't wait to make the first digital breakout with our new locks!

Thank you again for your generous support!”

  • Fun and Games for Families and Students

    Funded Sep 26, 2019

Thank you for the generous donations to help fund this project! We are so excited to give students these fun games to play for reward activities as well as family engagement nights. We are hoping to soon be able to have some "family fun nights" where there will be many activities for parents to come and enjoy with their children. These games and activities will add to that fun.

Our school also gives students reward days for hard work and good behavior. These games will be one of those rewards where students will be able to go outside and play with their friends.

Thank you again for your support of public schools and our students.”

  • Chromebook for Financial Learning

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

Thank you so much for contributing to my class. The use of technology has really changed the way I teach and how students engage in the classroom. Keeping up with changing technology is hard and constantly requires updating. That is why I am so thankful for organizations like DonorsChoose and the generous support of companies that help to fund these projects for teachers around the country.

My students love using Chromebooks every day and would be very disappointed if the day came when they did not have them available because they were old or broken. These new Chromebooks will last for years to come to keep students learning and engaged in my class.

Thank you again for your generous support!”

  • Keep Seeing the World with Chromebooks

    Funded Oct 14, 2019

Thank you so much for funding this project. Chromebooks have become an essential part of our everyday classroom lessons. They are used for more than just typing and word processing. There are so many education platforms that offer a wide variety of student engagement opportunities. Having a Chromebook for every student ensures that each student has the opportunity to learn equally and no student has to feel left out because they don't have or can't afford the latest and greatest device.

Using the Chromebooks has transformed how I teach the content of my classroom. Having a world of resources at our fingertips allows for more creative ways to learn about our history and country.

Thank you again for your generous support and contributions to public schools and to my students.”

  • Learning About the World With Chromebooks

    Funded Aug 10, 2019

Thank you for your support of my classroom and students. I was so excited to be able to start off this school year with new Chromebooks. These Chromebooks will ensure that all of my students can continue to participate and interact with class activities. The students love using the Chromebooks in class and we use them on an almost daily basis. There is such a wide variety of applications and programs for education that allows for much more interactive lessons with up-to-date information and the Chromebooks allows me to bring those resources into my classroom.

Thank you again for your generous donations and support!”

  • Seating for Financial Learning

    Funded May 9, 2019

Thank you for the generous support of my students and classroom. These desks have made such a difference in my classroom environment. They are so easy to move and reconfigure to various seating arrangements. The students would much rather sit at these desks than any other the older traditional desks. I love being able to provide students with choices in where they sit and being able to give them options in different types of desks. I can't wait to get a whole classroom of these desks! Thank you again for your donations!”

My school district is large. We have 13 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and 2 high schools. I teach 8th grade history at one of those middle schools. Our district is very diverse and has many socioeconomic classes. Looking at the district a large portion of is from lower economic classes and funding has to be stretched between many buildings we are not as affluent as other neighboring districts. As a result, things like technology are often not priorities in the district. So while other school districts are handing out tablets, laptops, and other updated technology, or districts is struggling to maintain a single outdated computer lab. My students love to learn and try new things. They want to be engaged in through technology and I would love to be able to give them that opportunity every day.
