MP3 Listening Center
Funded Feb 14, 2011We are so excited in Room 106! We have been extremely blessed by the donors at Donors Choose and the Korein Foundation. You do not even know how much of an impact you have made on my 26 students. They were so EXCITED when the box showed up with our new MP3 players. They asked for me to open them up and show them how to use them. I am so happy with how easy these are to use for my little guys! They will take up almost no space in our classroom and will be a GREAT addition to our listening center! I'm so happy that more children in my class will be able to have an opportunity to hear reading the right way!
Thank you again for your continued support of my classroom!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Farhat
This classroom project was brought to life by Korein Foundation and 12 other donors.Print Me Out...In Color!!!
Funded Feb 11, 2011Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom project! Having this HP color printer in our room has totally changed our classroom environment. The students were so excited when I was able to print our a picture of our new student right there, on the spot! They could not believe that I didn't tell them they had to wait until the following day! Plus, my new little guy didn't feel left out, because now I have his picture up too!
The possibilities are endless now that we have this HP color printer in our room. We will be able to print pictures whenever they are needed. My students will even be able to add colored pictures to the stories they write--which is something they haven't been able to do before. Another added bonus is that I won't have to bother our school secretary to print out my colored projects--she is busy enough (she already said how much she appreciates my thoughtfulness in thinking of her when I wrote this project). Once again, thank you for your generosity!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Farhat

Funded Jan 23, 2011Words cannot even begin to express how grateful I am to you. This book organizer has made a world's difference in our classroom. It takes up very little space, yet it can hold a TON of books! The children were very excited to help organize some of classroom library and add labels to the books in our new storage unit.
My students have learned many things from participating in Donors Choose. We have learned that there are truly compassionate people in the world. People that care about children getting an education that they deserve. People that understand how much teachers want to provide their students. Most importantly, my students have learned to appreciate the materials in our room, knowing that caring people are willing to help provide them with a stepping stone to a brighter future!”

Mrs. Farhat
Learning Through Play!
Funded Dec 31, 2010Words cannot even begin to describe what an impact this kitchen set has made in our classroom! I have not seen my class so excited in such a LONG time. Even my most needy children, in terms of language, are excited and eager to go to the kitchen.
I have seen such growth in the vocabulary of my limited English speakers. Most of them do not know the names of kitchen items and food items. By using this set, they have learned so many new words! It's also amazing to see just how creative children's minds can be! Unfortunately, there has been such a push down in the curriculum that some teachers have lost sight of the fact that play and imaginative play is a good foundation for early literacy.
Debbie, I am truly grateful for everything you have done for our classroom. My children are growing by the day and this in turn will be evident in their abilities as the year goes on.
Thank you again from my students and myself!!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Farhat
Authors in the Making
Funded Dec 23, 2010We were so EXCITED to come back from lunch today to find the HUGE box of supplies from our Authors in the Making project. My class was thrilled with all the new crayons, markers, scissors, and colored pencils! Nothing beats drawing and coloring with a brand new crayon!
My students really enjoyed using the new materials to make their thank you letters. All the wonderful colors they had to choose from made it even more of an exciting experience. I cannot wait to go in to work tomorrow and organize our new materials! The children in my class are just itching to write again! Our writing center will be up and going in no time thanks to the donations to this project.
Thank you again for helping my students become more creative in their writing! We are very fortunate to have donors like you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Farhat
We Listen to Stories!!
Funded Dec 6, 2010I cannot even begin to explain how our new Tag Readers have made a difference in our classroom. The children are able to grab a Tag Basket--loaded up with the Tag Reader, books and headphones and take them to a cozy spot in our classroom. In my classroom, the children are given choice during our literacy block and I cannot even count how many times they have chosen the Tag Readers.
The children in my class have become excited to learn how to read! I can see the joy in their eyes as they touch the pen to the words. They are enthused and now motivated to become better readers! My wish for the children in my class, is that they become fluent, independent readers, and now, with the help of our new Tag Readers, I know that they are headed in the right direction!
From my students and myself...thank you kind donors for making our classroom a better place to learn!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Farhat
This classroom project was brought to life by LeapFrog and 6 other donors.Wacky Word Detectives!!
Funded Dec 27, 2010First of all, I would like to thank ALL of the wonderful donors who helped make this project happen! The children in my classroom were so excited to open up the LARGE boxes that were delivered to our classroom. It was such a special experience watching each child take a turn and pulling out a new activity.
With your help, the children in my classroom will be able to build their letter recognition skills. They lur new magnetic board and the letters. They have so much fun trying to spell their names and match capital letters to their lowercase friends. For the students in my class that have already mastered letter recognition, the phonics and sound games have become their favorites. After watching them today, I think the Fishing for Phonics game is their favorite! I was in awe as I watched them teach one another how to play the game...even my struggling learners got in on the action!
Thank you again donors! Your support is greatly appreciated by myself and more importantly, the little learners in my classroom!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Farhat
