Disney Helps Students Build Responsibility Through Recycling
Funded Dec 20, 2012Thank you so much for your kind donation to this classroom project. The students were very excited to receive the mini recycling bins. They have been a very welcomed addition to our class. It's amazing to see the amount of waste one classroom can accumulate in a day. The recycling bins get emptied every afternoon into our school's larger bins. We have also been able to us the shredder to minimize the space that our recycled paper takes up.
In addition to recycling paper, we have added the larger receptacles to collect plastic water bottles throughout the school. It's been an eye opening experience for the students to see just how much they are saving when we recycle those bottles. It has led to many discussions about what happens when we recycle and how those bottles can be reused again.
Thank you once again for helping me to teach my students the importance of recycling.”

Funded Nov 13, 2012Let me begin by again saying, "Thank you!" I am so happy to say our classroom has such wonderful donors! The students I service have been overjoyed by the amount of supplies we have to use. The glue sticks alone have made them jump for joy!
We are so lucky to have such caring individuals donate these much needed essentials. It is unbelievable just how many supplies we use in a school year. The children have been very excited to have the choice in what color composition book they want--not just the standard black! The Smencils have also been super popular and a wonderful reward for students that have shown they can be responsible for their materials.
Again, from my students and I...thank you!”

Save the Arts in Kindergarten!
Funded Jun 29, 2012I am absolutely AMAZED by the amount of support that this project received. As the boxes have started to roll in, the students' anticipation grows. They are anxious to see what each box contains and their ooohs and aaahs make me giggle as we open the boxes.
I am very grateful to the wonderful donors that were as passionate about this project as I was. With tightening budgets, unfortunately it is often the arts that get left behind. I know that your support has made this school year different. With the variety of materials we now have, I know that I will be able to support the arts in my classroom. I will be able to create meaningful art experiences to integrate content areas.
I simply cannot express how thankful we are!”

Bullies Be Gone with Board Games!
Funded Oct 3, 2012I cannot even begin to tell you what a difference your donation has made to the children I service. These games have had such an impact on the behavior of the students in my room. The children have been able to change their behavior in a very positive nature. The students have been more kind to one another and very helpful. They know that these positive attributes will earn them tickets to play the game of their choice.
The games in general have helped with the social behaviors. The games have taught my younger students not only important social skills, but academic skills such as counting. My older students have learned about turn taking, sharing and cooperation.
Thank you helping me to mold these children in to nurturing and caring individuals!”

Funded Sep 26, 2012Thank you so much again for being such a wonderful contributor to our classroom. The bookshelf and baskets have been very beneficial to us. The shelf is wonderful, just the right size to hold classroom materials. The baskets fit very nicely on the shelves and they are great for separating the materials for our reading groups.
Not only do the materials help to keep us organized, but they also give students a sense of pride and responsibility. They know which basket belongs to their group and they respect the other groups' baskets.
Thank you again for helping us to be clutter free!”

Funded Sep 7, 2012I am so excited to report that my students have started to use the materials that were donated to this project and they couldn't be happier! We are getting so much use out of the highlighters and sticky notes. The students are very excited to have the new materials, but more importantly, they are seeing how important it is to have the appropriate tools so that learning can happen.
They are anxiously awaiting the unveiling of the iPod Touch. I am setting it up and together, we are going to learn how to use this amazing tool. I just know that it will provide me with a multitude of uses in turn increasing student achievement.
Thank you again for sharing in my passion!”

Bouncing Ballz Protect our Pads!
Funded Mar 28, 2012Our classroom has been so blessed this past school year. Through extremely generous donors, we were able to acquire some wonderful technology. Now, with YOUR kind donation we are able to protect that technology and make sure it will last for years to come.
I was so excited to receive the iBallz harness and cases for our iPads. It made me feel secure in letting my students' little fingers plan and learn. The product is of excellent quality and I have had several compliments by visitors in our classroom. Many of them shocked that I allowed 5 and 6 year olds to work away on the iPad with little supervision. Yet I knew that the technology was protected and there was little harm they could do.
Thank you again for ensuring that our iPads will be around for many more students to learn and grow!”

We're Rockin' in Our School Shoes With AKJ Books!
Funded Apr 21, 2012I have to say that when I first posted this project, I didn't think that it would get funded. I was pretty sure that I would have to head over to Barnes & Noble and purchase this gift for my students myself. I would have done anything to see the smile on their faces! Thanks to you, I was able to share their smiling faces with the entire nation! The Pete the Cat books made the perfect end of the year gift for my students. Setting the tables up after lunch and seeing the excitement as they entered the room was simply priceless.
I know that they will cherish this books for a lifetime. Donors such as yourself may not see the true impact of their donation, but I promise you this..your donation mattered! With your help, I was able to give my students a little bit of "kindergarten" as they walked out of the room for summer vacation and up the stairs to first grade. You helped me make them realize that school is cool and in Pete's words, "It's all good".
With sincere thanks and appreciation...”

Let's Get Our "Tech" On!
Funded Dec 19, 2011All I can say is WOW!! My classroom is so lucky to have such caring donors! Our new Nook Colors have arrived as well as our new iPads. The students were so excited as we opened the boxes!
The Nooks have been a wonderful addition to the 2 Nooks we currently have. The children have been using them during our Daily 5 time--they are just PERFECT for Listen to Reading. As for our iPads, we have been using them during our afternoon center time. The children look forward to their turn and have been great at sharing our new tools. The iPads are such a great learning tool. The apps that I have downloaded are perfect because not only do they assist my struggling learners, but they can challenge my students that need that push!
Thank you again for making such a difference in my classroom environment!”

Teaching with Technology!
Funded Feb 28, 2012"Wow, look at all the cool new games we have!" This was what I heard when we opened our box of goodies. Boy was that little guy right! These interactive CDs have to be one of the best projects we have had funded by awesome donors like yourself.
Our new games are so fun and interactive. We have been spending a few minutes after lunch each day introducing the new activities. The children love when I open up a game during center time. They are becoming more proficient in using our Promethean board and going back and forth between games!
Thank you for showing my children that learning can be fun!”

Mrs. Farhat
