Math Moves!
Funded Dec 18, 2015My students and are have been very excited to receive the materials from this project. My kindergarten and first grade students have been the ones to utilize our Math Moves materials the most. The class set of rekenreks have been one of the most loved resources. My students love when I tell them to pass out the rekenreks and start our Number Talks lessons. Through the use of the rekenreks, my littlest students have grown as mathematicians.
We have also been using the bean bags and poly spots a great deal. Using the poly spots, we made a classroom number line; each spot has a number written on it. This has been a great way to teach one to one correspondence and number recognition.
I cannot thank you enough for helping to bring some excitement to math instruction!”

Math is Fun!
Funded Jul 17, 2015My students were THRILLED when our boxes were delivered to the classroom. The third graders wanted me to open them up as soon as the building engineer delivered them! As we opened the boxes, the 'oohs' and 'aahhs' filled the room. They were so excited to have new math games and wanted to open each one right then and there.
Since we have received our games, we have had a chance to use them many times. When students come to Enrichment with me, I sometimes put the Pop to Win games out as a choice. I love how perfectly they tie in to what the students are learning in class. They are a great supplement to our district curriculum and are perfect for the many levels of learners I teach.
Thank you so much for your gift to my students...the gift of learning is one that simply cannot be taken away!”

Keeping Cool In School!
Funded Sep 23, 2014I am so grateful for Google and Google Detroit for supporting public schools in the Metro Detroit area. Thank you so much for your donation of fans to keep our classroom cool in the warmer months. Now that winter is coming to an end, we are noticing the classroom getting warmer. Our fans will be coming out soon and will be put to good use in the Springtime.
I am extremely thankful that with the upcoming testing season, my students will be able to concentrate and focus on learning as opposed to the warm room.
Thank you from my students!”

Scientists Are Readers Too!
Funded Sep 23, 2014Thank you so much for the donation of books! I am so grateful that we are able to have a collection of books that tie in to our science curriculum. The students in my upper elementary classes have been putting the books to good use! Some students have asked to check them out for use in their mainstream classrooms to use as research. Other students have been making connections between the books and the content we are learning.
Thank you once again for your continued support to our students and school!”

Making Science Fun!
Funded Sep 23, 2014I am so excited that we have finally been able to use our Magnet Fun Kit! My first graders have really enjoyed exploring with the many different types of magnets that came in the kit. They could not believe that there were so many different types of magnets!
My first graders were able to read the task cards independently which was another plus considering their learning levels range so greatly between the two classes.
Thank you once again for showing your support for my classroom through your donation!”

Reading To Become Scientists
Funded Jul 15, 2014I am so happy to share the experience my students have had with the books you so generously donated! Seeing the looks on their faces as the boxes arrived to our room was priceless. As we opened the boxes and pulled out our new books, the children could not stop their chatter! Their excitement was evident from their giggles and smiles.
We have added the new books to our reading library. The new titles have come in very handy--especially during our most recent unit, force and motion. It was very nice to go grab the book from the shelf to give examples and visuals.
Thank you once again for giving my students the best gift of all--BOOKS!”

Back to Basics
Funded Jan 2, 2014Thank you so much for helping to provide my students with some of the 'basics' needed to function on a daily basis. It is through donors like you, that we are able to help maintain the cleanliness of our classroom. The students have been practicing being responsible by using the cleaning wipes to clean up. The highlighters have been extremely helpful in helping to teach note taking as well as close reading. Students are so excited to have some variety in color too!
I cannot even begin to thank you for your extreme generosity!”

Funded Nov 14, 2013I'm so grateful to all the wonderful donors that have supported this project! The initial intent of the project was to be for student use during outdoor recess. However, with the nasty Michigan winter we have had this year, students have not been able to utilize the equipment outdoors. Our awesome gym teacher has put the materials to good use though! Until the weather breaks, she has added the cart, jump ropes, balls, and hula hoops to the Gym Pack. The Gym Pack is awarded to the classes that have had AWESOME behavior for the week.
The students that have used the wonderful equipment that was donated have been all smiles! The bright cart and equipment have been a great addition to our school. Not only has the equipment helped students to grow and develop physically, but the equipment has also helped students to grow socially and emotionally--students have had to learn how to cooperate, share and use their words when they use the recess equipment.
Thank you once again for supporting the students with your generous donation!”

Just Wiggle While You Work!
Funded Jul 15, 2013I cannot even begin to tell you how much this stools have impacted the students I work with. First of all, they love the bright colors, which make them more 'cool' to sit in. The fact that they come in different heights has helped as well. Any aged student, from kindergarten to fifth grade has been able to find the perfect stool to sit in.
The stools have been so beneficial for my wiggly learners. They feel like they are still part of the class, without being disruptive or distracting to others. The children love them so much, they are not willing to let others borrow them, which means another project may need to be written!
I am so proud to say that our classroom has the support of donors who understand what my students need to excel at learning. These stools have been the perfect resource for my most struggling students, allowing them to focus and stay on task for longer periods of time.
Thank you for supporting my students!”

Printer Problems? Epson To The Rescue!
Funded Dec 31, 2012Thank you very much for your gracious contribution to our little classroom project. We have been very blessed to have wonderful donors who see the alum in projects such as this one. The students in my class were very happy to see the boxes of new ink arrive. They know that their work can now be printed in color and displayed for the school to see. As simple as it sounds, the ink that was delivered had made a HUGE impact on the students in my classroom. The students now take pride in their work. They make sure that they follow all the steps to complete a project because they know they will be able to publish their work. Many students have gotten very creative and learned the basics of changing fonts, adding graphics, and changing font colors.
Thank you for helping my students take pride in their work!”
