In my classroom there will be a mindfulness bucket for students to use as a second chance. Students who may be experiencing neglect or anger at home may not come to school ready to receive and learn. Often, if students are preoccupied about things at home or wondering if there will be dinner later, they are not focused. They may communicate those feelings ineffectively using hurtful words or actions. If they choose to communicate ineffectively or make inappropriate choices they will take a brief break in a buddy classroom and choose an activity from the mindfulness bucket. I need help filling my bucket with activities for a variety of ages so that when students come to my room, they will be able to relieve stress, focus on puzzles, use hands on to exert energy, etc.
